Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

I'm not sure what you're on about. Should I have declined the offer because it came out of someone else's pocket?
Knowing it was dodgy from the off you decided to take advantage of other depositors. You then decided be smug about it.

Like I said, something for you to think about.

Yes, let me also avoid offers at supermarkets too 'cos other people are paying for it

Go white-knight somewhere else, your crap isn't working here.

I seem to have touched a raw nerve.

All matched betting offers are paid for by other people, where do bookies get their money from if not other bettors?

As i said before the whole point about matched betting was the risk free element.
Not so risk free when this company was apparently identified as dodgy from the off and eventually folded owing £90 million.

I've seen what used to be named "profit accumulator" advertising popping up on my social media feed recently. They are now rebranding as outplayed. They aim to be one of these places you subscribe to at £40 per month that find all the matched betting offers for you and kind of tell you what to do.

Full of "good" reviews. Thoughts?

I used it when it was PA. It teaches you the whole thing like you're a 5 year old, so it is super easy to follow.

Worth it to quickly run through all the sign ups.

Not much money to be had these days unless you're running 10+ accounts.

I don't understand. Surely the whole point in matched betting is that you run a shedload of accounts. Like eventually 50+ or as many as you end up doing for all the offers?

Unless you mean 10+ PER bookie as in duplicate accounts? Surely not since it's one per address?

I think he does mean the latter, the signup offers are generally the more lucrative so once you've burned through the main bookie offers then getting friends/family to sign up is apparently the go-to move for some.

To be honest I dont see why anyone would care.

Its not your fault that a company operated a ponzi scheme, you were just smart and took easy money up for offering, well done for making the smart plays.
I saw this sort of thing a lot towards the end of the matched betting bubble - random bookies would pop up offering massive sign up bonuses, or unsustainable refund offers. You were basically gambling that you requested your withdrawal before anyone else and they had enough liquidity to pay out. Not bad if you go in with your eyes open, but I saw plenty of people get burned.

Yeah most bookies are a bit dodgy but the major ones aren't likely to renege on a signup offer for a new customer (save for things like detecting that you're using duplicate accounts etc..).

Almost all bookies hate winners though (very few exceptions like Pinnacle, the tote, exchanges to some extent, maybe some Asian bookies etc..) so sustained matched betting or just anyone seen to be taking value bets is at risk of being limited or banned by them.

Likewise, they do sometimes try to get out of paying promotions/accumulator bets especially if they can claim a mispricing error - quite a few of these incidents from the major chains documented by Caan Berry on his youtube channel. This is especially dubious when they've advertised a price in say a national newspaper - at what point does it become a "palpable error" instead of a promotional offer as surely all promotional offers are inherently mispriced a little in order for them to be promotional/enticing for customers and you never hear of them voiding the bets if they got the other way: "dear punter your bet lost but upon review, we enticed you to bet with a price that we wouldn't have honoured if it had won so here is your money back".

After about 18 months I made £7500 and have just about been stake limited and banned from promotions from most bookies, or at least any that have worthwhile ongoing offers. About £100 a week on average but not really worth the time and effort unless you have a lot of spare time and do it for a bit of a hobby. I know there are people that claim to make a living from it but I doubt thats possible long term unless you have people willing to let you use their ID,s. Whether you are laying off the bets or not eventually you will get limited at every single bookie once they realise you are winning consistently.

I would have quit about 6 months ago but I stumbled accidentally on a system to guarantee a profit on horse racing at a certain bookies, at first I was their best pal because I was placing a lot of bets every day, they invited me to apply for their credit card, a few days later I was banned from promotions and stake limited to £5, after placing a couple of £5 bets the limit went down to £2. Thats when I realised it's all a big con, they are supposedly gambling institutions which means you can either win or lose, but thats not possible, once they realise that you can win consistently they will stop you being able to win by limiting you stake down to a few pence.

The bookies dont care if you win or lose, they care if you take value, so close back and lay odds, free spins, eachway bets on horses will get you gubbed quickly.
Sometimes you get lucky and last a while othertimes you get gubbed very quickly. You have to take value to make a profit, You can also arb them after you're gubbed until stake restricted.
Matched betting used to be easy years ago with free bets worth £100's. Now you have to work 100 times harder to earn a few pennies.

You can still earn £1000+ a month but it takes a lot of time and luck hitting 2ups and extra places or you could try casino but the offers are nearly all gone now and variance on the slots means you could go on massive losing streaks before you get back in to profit.
