Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

So, original post if 5 years old now and I've browsed this thread many times thinking "i'll have a go" but never really having the time.

Well, having discovered I am in a lot more debt than I thought I am looking at anyway possible to bring in a few extra pounds here and there to help out.

Is matched betting still a viable option? I know when I last looked at it people were saying around £1500-2000 following guides etc.

It's viable if you don't have any bookie accounts open.

On £1250 now over 3.5 weeks with around 1.5-2 hours per day on top of a full time job.

I definitely need to cut down the time.

When did you start out and how do you find it?

I've been reading more and more into it. And I have a few outstanding little debts here and there that I'd like to clear off earlier than later. And I'm fine paying them monthly. But I'm thinking if I stick in an hour every day. Over the span of 3 months, will I reach over £1k? Can I suddenly decide to pull out all the money when I want or is it all tied in and complicated?

Thanks

If you don't have any bookie accounts and can use the sign up offers, you can take a week off work and make £1k in a week, no jokes. The problem is having enough cash to lay off all the bets. The biggest thing with this is waiting for withdrawals to hit your account until you have enough bank to just get on with it.

I've been following this thread for a while but never actually given it a go. I have a few questions:

1) This seems to rely on sign-up bonuses. Once you've 'used up' all of the sign up bonuses (at all of the bookies) what's next? Or do you get a one-shot at matched betting and then you're done?

2) Is it possible to matched bet entirely on betting exchanges? I have read how it's easy to get 'gubbed' but that matched betting is allowed on exchanges (because the exchange never loses!). I'm aware the odds would be lower.

Essentially, I am wondering if there is any sort of long-term use of matched betting or if it's all over once the bonuses dry up?

Matched betting is using a back and a lay to unlock offers - free bets, refunds etc. So no you can't do it just on the exchange.

Obviously sign up offers provide a lot of value up front but most bookies have offers on for existing customers all the time, money back if the favourite wins, money back if your horse finishes second, free bet if there is a red card etc.

Still plenty of life after the sign up offers, I am on £339.05 profit for this month so far :) and there are people with much high incomes than me. After the sign ups, reloads (horse racing and football) are the best way for stead incomes. This afternoon alone has a Sky offer, two bet365 offers and a lot more from other bookies. As long as you look after your accounts and mug bet (bets that make you look like a normal 'mug' gambler) you should be fine or at worst lose very few accounts.

It most definitely does work ;):) (this is just my side of things):

Made a little over £3600 since last July since I started recording all my bets properly, and probably at least another >£750 with the other bits and bobs (casino offers, arbs, flukes etc).

EDIT - slightly irrelevant figure but I have just seen me and the Mrs have staked a touch under £50k since last July :p

£30 since Monday. Would've been about 10x that if I wasn't so stubborn and just put more money in my MB account but I enjoy the challenge of keeping it isolated, which means I can only do small refunds.

I've also got a £2 free bet on Paddy and 3x £5 free bets incoming from Betstars so I'm slowly picking it up again. I also had a few top goalscorer bets open which are doing ok, Aguero is getting me a £2 bet every time he scores so that's great.

I also bet on Chelsea to win the league months ago without laying it (intentionally, not too fussed about that one) so that's £20 down the drain :p

Ah well, the balance is slowly growing again but more importantly it's great fun. I should probably start mugging a few more bookies so they start sending me more offers.

I used to do Profit Accumulator, made appx £355 from some beginner and advanced offers. I then got really stuck for time and I also found it hard to get my head around some of the advanced offers and reloads. Anyway, I have met someone who manages peoples accounts, uses his own cash to lay bets and he gives you 50% of the profits, you just open up a fresh current bank account for him to work with. In 2 weeks he has made me (and sent me £375). He is now continually doing my reload offers. He estimates that June/July will be HUGE due to the Euros. If anyone is interested in him doing earnings for you give me a shout.

I think everyone here wants to be in his position...
