Matched betting - who's done it and who's good at it? (No Referrals)

whilst PA is definitely milking the money and expensive, the community and ease makes it worthwhile to me, ive made over 1k the past few months so says it all really. Once i find a substantial service cheaper ill consider moving but with what its earned me i cant grumble too much. My main frustration with PA is the admin (mainly Sam) when ever there is a complaint he shuts it down and makes the complainer sound stupid and back heels the fault first class bell.

Signed up for one month at PA.

I was already familiar with MB but this got me back into it. It tells you NOTHING new but I like how it pools all the offers into one place.
I was not eligible for 50% of the new customer bonuses as I already had accounts.

Where can I use as a cheaper/free alternative to PA?
The horse matching I am crap at (I do not wish to spend an extra tenner on PA!) and find that all these 'horse comes second, get a free bet' offers are not worth it as I am losing too much on the qualifying bet!

On a better note, I turned £1000 in 3 weeks spending around 2 hours per day on MB. Lovely.

I have cancelled my PA subscription.

It does work.
It does make it very simple.
My gripe is that the oddsmatching software only updates every 10 minutes or so and therefore is often wrong as the odds have moved.
In addition to this for £23 per month I expect all offers on there (they aren't) and for no faults.

PA has a lot of potential but it really needs to be an A+ service when all other websites are free.

It is pretty impressive what that guy has done, he's taken something that has been around for over a decade with plenty of free information about it on forums and various websites then written an idiots guide and charged for it. Good marketing skills. You've only got to look at this thread say a year ago and see the sort of people he appealed to - willing to pay a fee for the hand holding approach. On the other hand now that a bunch of people who wouldn't have otherwise risked trying this sort of thing are doing it there is much more pressure on bookies to crack down. They don't have never ending supplies of cash for promotions and do want value from new sign ups.

I never understood people promoting this or other ways of making money online for free, the PA guy has the right idea in making a small fortune from it.

Oh don't get me wrong....my actual BIGGEST annoyance is I had a passing thought in 2007 to do this!
He had the balls to do it and I am sure he is freaking loaded.

The affiliate scheme on PA (now closed to new members) is a nice little earner as well ;)

Crikey, this game has all but died

Checked a load of bookies this afternoon and the offers are generally acca refunds or "horse beaten by a length" stuff, which is a bit crap if you don't have a big bankroll.

What regulars are you guys using?

Yeah, you need a big bank roll to make it worthwhile once you've done all the signup offers - which is why most guides suggest not spending any profits from the signup offers.

Accas are what keeps my profits turning over in between the dry spells.

There was probably a bit of lag between the increase in signups and the realisation by the bookies, a few months later, that they're not getting any value from the new accounts.

A few spreadsheets kicking around for ACCA offers to guarantee ~15% profit. When oddsmonkey was free you could use that to find good matches. Some paid websites that combine most of the legwork but it's not that hard to do it yourself.

I don't like the poor odds but some people seem do well with correct score and bore draw type offers.

Still some good racing offers, ideally combined on races with <10 runners and/or a clear split of favourites and outsiders.

well the next step after matched betting(if the more straightforward offers do dry up completely) is for the PA guy to kill off sharbing

after that maybe he'll get the mumsnet crew to try sports 'trading' pre-match/pre-race, though that might not work out so well for them...

Can't be a coincidence that shortly after PA and OM unveiled products targeting MB2 that both Hills and Ladbrokes hobbled their offers.

I imagine most would be too lazy to bother with sharbing, unless you could pay someone to do it for you? Perhaps a great idea for a new site, with some aggressive affiliate marketing/astroturfing on mumsnet you'd be sorted.

LOL, unfortunately I don't think it would last as long - if it got popular I can imagine the shop staff getting all sorts of grief from the mumsnet crew after having to explain that the prices have now been updated and the odds on the coupon are no longer valid. Prices would move much more quickly if discrepancies are advertised to a wide audience. All these edges can be eroded very quickly, there is only a finite amount of free money out there and something like PA could easily kill the coupon system at bookies.

So, original post if 5 years old now and I've browsed this thread many times thinking "i'll have a go" but never really having the time.

Well, having discovered I am in a lot more debt than I thought I am looking at anyway possible to bring in a few extra pounds here and there to help out.

Is matched betting still a viable option? I know when I last looked at it people were saying around £1500-2000 following guides etc.

Haven't even got close to do all the start up offers yet and already £150 up.
Coral do a £10 offer every week end by the looks of it.
Sky also does a weekly offer if you place x-amount of bets.
And bet365 does £200 offer but haven't got enough built up for that yet.
