Grenade.

They're a breed of bee's that have been able to withstand the onslaught of the deadly disease that has wiped out most of the bee's in the UK. And you're going to kill more of them

I would find out what they are, if they're wasps then get rid of them but bees are pretty harmless really.

On a serious note, I suggest two things that we have employed successfully on ants in the past ... I'm sure they'll work on bees/wasps similarly ...

1) boiling water. More suited to patios than soil, really.

2) soak petrol into the soil (the tunnels will help it all flow in), wait for a while, add some more to be sure and light it up. Instant cure.

Would setting it alight not completeley destroy his garden? and foundations.

I witnessed a wasp murdering a moth today, the moth was spazzing out and it turned out to have a wasp on it's back.

Contact your local council Pest Control office. They'll provide advice and will probably deal with it (for a fee)

Judging by your description, you appear to have become home to Deathus Hornetus species. They kill just by glaring angrily at you, but prefer to come in close for the kill.

For posterity and everyone else's convenience, these are the specimens in question;

There are no known methods of total eradication. Sorry.

I did hear nuclear weapons work, but the last time anyone's used them on live targets was about 60 years ago.

If they're bees, leave 'em be. They're a important and currently threatened part of our ecosystem.

If they're wasps, wait 'til after dark, pour petrol into the nest and light it up.
