Materazzi Insult to Zidane.

I'm staggered by the amount of support for Zidane... why?

He committed the headbutt! Regardless of what happened it shouldn't have been done! Who's to say that Materazzi wasn't the victim, Zidane might have said something insulting first. Zidane's disceplinary record doesn't exactly do him any favours.
I think almost everyone has agreed that Zidane deserved the red card, it is the circumstances and not the act itself that will now attract the most attention.

Of all players, I would never expect Zidane to lose it like that. You rarely even see him going in with a dangerous challenge, hes just not that kind of player. Materazzi must have said something very serious imo to get that kind of a reaction from Zidane, I hope he does comes out with what was said to him.

Zidane's had loads of Red Cards in the past...

You didn't see the USA game then?

In which the USA had more players sent off? That game was just war, the Italians were getting stuck in and the Americans getting stuck in, it wasn't a dirty game if you ask me, it was a fantastic competative game.

Excactly, insult and swearing happens all the time, he was just stupid to headbutt him with only 10 minutes of his career to go.

And why do people think insulting his momma is so bad

The disgraceful elbow from Di Rossi was blatant thuggary though and deserved the 4 match ban he got.

You are joking? He did nothing wrong. Thats part and parcel of football. Can't take stick? Don't play football.

I would come out with a completely insulting comment right about here saying, thats what the internets about, cant take the stick, then dont browse the forums!, but i dont wanna get a summer holiday. :D

Thats exactly what I thought about it, I wish more games were competative like that. I hate how football is a none-contact sport when it should be. There were no dives, only competative tackles.

Now what would I rather see? Another Italy vs USA played competatively or Switzerland vs Ukraine played in a sporting manner?

at the end of the day materazzi could have said the worst thing imaginable, but zidance should NOT have reacted in that way, on the world stage representing football, stupid thing to do

Aye, with 2 Billion people watching you would've thought he could have stopped for a moment and thought about what he was doing. I guess it was a heat of the moment thing but quite worrying he could have snapped like that.
