Mattresses - I need knowledge

I’ve seen a few different companies all offering the same kind of deal. Getting to try one of their mattresses for one hundred days and at any point in that time can say you don’t want it and they’ll collect for free.

Tempted to try because the mattress in my (rented) flat is pretty gash. Could even be a bit of a scumbag and essentially have a free mattress for ten months using each of three offers I’ve seen today :o.

So has anyone tried mattresses from Simba/Eve/others?

I Didn't try the eve evtress as such .I popped into the nearest next home place and tested the mattress for 5 mins. Seemed to be fine so bought one direct along with their pillows as they had 100quid off at the time. The mattress agreed with me so I've still got it :D

I find more that my diet and exercise regime has a bigger effect on my sleep patterns but saying that my old sprung mattress had dipped so probably wasn't the best

I've tried the Emma hybrid - I love it but it's too soft for my partner even with a firming layer added (they send this for free). I'm currently waiting for this to be returned.

I've then got the Otty hybrid yesterday and had a horrible nights sleep (woke up crippled) as it's way too hard for me. This will go back too.

So now i'm looking at the DUO mattress since this can be configured half/half to your liking. Bit of a nightmare but I need a solution!

Forgive this being a stupid question, i've gone back through posts and not spotted anyone mentioning it - has anyone tried Casper? I've seen a few positive comments elsewhere. I sleep hot so def need something no hotter than a normal pocket sprung and cope with side sleeping 14st 6'1" lump + Significantly smaller wifey :D

Really struggling to find something which will be comfortable, 10 mins in a shop doesn't give any real idea so the 100 day trial is quite appealing. Simba also looks interesting based on comments here although some have mentioned it can feel hot.

I needed a new mattress and the amount on offer was overwhelming. Tried a few out in Dreams and settled on the "Hyde & Sleep" K Hybrid Plus Raspberry. It's a foam mattress with spring's, with a firm rating.
Got it from Dreams for just over £500. No complaints so far.

Any ideas on a fairly lightweight mattress for one person to be used while for staying somewhere for up to a week? I've used a decent blow-up mattress before but found it needed to be re-inflated a few times over night (pita and couldn't sleep well) so returned it. I'm looking for something to chuck in the back of an estate car that is pretty decent to sleep on (I get back issues) so that I can do some work on an apartment I own(unfurnished)

Ready to pull the trigger on a better mattress, I know personal preference comes massively down to these type of purchases but it’ll be good to hear people’s opinions.

Simba or Eve? Or let me know if you have another recommendation. Mixture of sleep habits, I’m a side and front sleeper and my wife roughly the same.

Cheers

Looking like Simba is a good option at the minute. Does anyone have any tips on how to get some discount from them? (I seen an earlier post mentioning put everything in basket and quite out), I did this but just recieved usual ‘you’ve left something in your basket’. I did get an email from someone asking if they could help and I expressed just mulling it over at the minute but no reply since.

Looking to put together a bit of a bundle so any ideas or tips would be appreciated, or even if anyone knows roughly when they tend to drop a discount code?

I got the Una latex mattress in the end. I haven't felt like 'it's like sleeping on a cloud' but I have no complaints either so I guess it's doing it's job. Their pillow is absolutely massive though - the 'standard' is technically a queen size and is about twice the height of the old pillow I had, although you can remove about a third of the inside as it's two latex flake pillows inside the cover - one heavily stuffed and one loosely stuffed - which I might try although it hasn't given me neck ache yet.

We got the simba for our spare room a few weeks back and tried sleeping on it ourselves for a bit. It's very soft and comfortable but it also gets quite warm. It's still got the chemical smell after a month or so, so advise airing the room a bit - perhaps if it's a daily driver then that smell goes much quicker as it's being 'used' more. Very comfortable but think we are going to switch it out with another John Ryan mattress. IME better quality.

Bonuses of these 'in a box' mattresses is literally that, the boxes are incredibly tiny and delivery is super quick.

Ah, how's the firmness/bounce of the mattress? I'm considering this and a mattress by John Ryan by Design.

I went with the firm-medium-soft combination as I'm quite light (they recommend firm-soft-medium) although I might change it up for a bit just to see if I have a preference. There's not a dramatic difference between the layers for me, although perhaps there might be for someone heavier. I'll do a quick video or something when I'm not on shift as it'll be easier to show rather than tell I guess.

Ah cheers. I'm around 60kg so I'm looking for something with some 'bounce'. Also, how was the delivery process? Can you pick a specific date and time-slot?

I got an email enquiring if a specific date was ok then it was left in the hands of DPD to give me a time slot. It comes in 3 boxes with each layer just rolled up rather than being a single vacuum sealed job like the memory foam mattresses which certainly makes getting it up the stairs easier (latex is quite heavy). I'm only a little bit heavier than you which is why I went with hard>medium>soft layering.
