Mattresses - I need knowledge

How do these free returns policy work? Any time up to 100 days I can just call them and get them to pick it up?

Wanted to try one of these for a while but am super fussy about my mattress so don't want to be stuck with one! :(

Pretty much that's the theory. If you are unhappy, you call them and they send someone over to collect it and give you a full refund.

Has anyone tried Emma mattresses? I went with a King and a single for my son. Are they ok? The reviews seem to favour them but you never know these days. Never known so many conflicting reports about so many different brands

I mainly went for them due to the fact the top is removable and machine washable. I tend to sweat a lot at night (even though I never feel hot, no idea, I'm just odd) so this was a big selling point for me. With the code, it was just a tad under a grand for both but I was in desperate need of one. Our 6-year-old mattress is giving my back grief lately and it's generally just seen better days, so decided to take the plunge

Moving to a new house soon so a mattress is needed. I’ve seen the Simba mattress at JL. Did some research and I keep reading conflicting reviews. Many complain that the mattress has sunk in areas after a year or so.

Has anyone had one of these for longer than a year? Can you please share your experience?

I ordered an Emma Original king last week, likewise the removable top was a plus point. Still waiting for my delivery though :D

I ordered the Emma on boxing day however i move out at the end of the month so i delayed the delivery on it. I did have a lay down on one in DFS before i ordered albeit not long enough for a good opinion but i did like the look of the reviews too.

About to start looking for a new mattress, as ours is getting a bit knackered (reaching the ~10 year mark) and also because we want to swap from a double to a king (wanted superking actually but measured up last night and it won't fit in the room without getting in the way of the door! :()

Know virtually nothing about mattresses though, our old mattress (which even now I wouldn't describe as uncomfortable) is a fairly standard pocket-sprung 1000 sort of affair... have lay on a few other types back when we bought this one and felt like the pure memory foam ones were a bit too firm, but not really sure... I'm guessing this might be the sort of thing that you've just got to try them out and decide what you like but will have a skim of this thread for ideas of what to try. The Emma ones seem to win lots of awards but they're essentially just foam? Budget wise I think we can get a similar 1000 pocket spring for £400 ish in a king and that's fine, we could stretch a bit if it seemed worthwhile...

Well, sorry for double post but in case anyone decides to respond an update:

Went browsing at the weekend and ended up finding a SuperKing frame in Oak Furnitureland that will fit in the room giving about 3cm of clearance for the door to squeeze past - result! There's a huge amount of variability in terms of what the frame adds to the width of the mattress (of the ones we looked at the widest frame was over 10cm wider than the one we went for)... After declining their offer of £35 to deliver it more quickly than the ~3 weeks they said free delivery would take I got home and had an email telling me it's coming on Thursday - glad I didn't pay - those damn crooks!

Mattress is from a smaller local place where we've bought several of our previous beds/mattresses from in the past - would have bought the bed from them too but they didn't have one narrow enough. We had a look at a SIMBA mattress in Bensons earlier in the day and just not convinced by it at all... had a lay on a few ridiculous £4k+ premium ones too just for the fun of it - pretty comfy but way too expensive. The one we went for in the end from the local place is made by Harrison Spinks, just a 4800 pocket sprung medium firmness that felt pretty comfortable and we got a good deal on it

Now to just wait and see if our measurements were correct and if we can get it all up the stairs :p

Ordered an Emma mattress on 4th Jan, Should have been delivered following week.
We also had the delay in production email, new dispatch date scheduled for tomorrow so hopefully delivery sometime next week.
Looking forward to it as the old mattress is so uncomfortable.
