Max's Training Log - 2014

Monday: 90.3
Tuesday: 91.2
Wednesday: 90.4
Thursday: 90.9
Friday: 90.4
Saturday: 91.2
Sunday: 91.0

Up and down a bit this week, wasn't really on track with my macros and made some bad choices over all.

Bit pee'd off as its unlike me to go off track like this nowadays as I eat the foods I like on a daily basis. Not going to overthink it, just a blip.

Started HST 5s this week, felt so nice having done 15s and 10s.

Will see how this week goes.

Big woosh of weight loss this week.

Last week on my first HST cycle starting today, after that I will do another cycle.

Here's a squat video from this morning too.

Really pleased with how they have come along from a couple of months ago.

Last rep was an intended pause :p

Well my first cycle of HST is finished, actually really like this program, full body 3 times a week appeals to me.

Next week is the strategic de-load so I will be eating off day calories and probably doing a couple of LISS cardio sessions to keep me from fidgeting.

Lessons learnt from the first cycle are don't underestimate the 15s, they are killer.

Also going to swap some of the assistance work round next cycle, I don't side raises work on 5s.

I will be swapping them out for another shoulder pressing movement, probably klokovs for punishment.

Triceps I will swap out skullcrushers for dips as rumour has it a dip station is incoming next week.

Anyway, here is 2 more videos from today.

Bear in mind these were done after the 5s :o

Back squats are getting there, also tried front squats after some guidance from Benny_C, went for 60kg and it felt very good in terms of weight on the bar but I realise my form isn't there yet. But I think I have some potential with front squats, almost felt as if I had more power than my back squats.

So they will be taking place of leg extensions next cycle too.

Weight isn't coming off quite quick enough bar last weeks odd drop but I have some room to play with in terms of calories on off days.

And the problem with your front squat form is...? ;)

Awesome work, bud.

Front squats are a much 'easier' movement because I think there is less shear stress on the spine and it is more 'familiar'... because of tje quads.

Rock on.

First time I tried front squats a couple of weeks ago it felt so un-natural so theres still a mental element of that I think.

Good to hear they aren't too awful then :D

Let this cut finish so I can try get some weight on the bar

This weeks weight.

Monday: 89.8
Tuesday: 90.0
Wednesday: 89.8
Thursday: 90.1
Friday: 89.9
Saturday: 89.7
Sunday: 89.4 (new low)

88kg next week please.

Skipped the de-load because, well just because.

Did the first session of Cycle 2 15s today, good lord that was tough.

Please let this cut end :p

Weight Update:

Monday: 89.6
Tuesday: 90.1
Wednesday: 89.9
Thursday: 89.6
Friday: 88.9
Saturday: 88.9
Sunday: 88.4 (new low)

Boom, happy with that!

Current macros are:

Training days: 200P/250C/60F
Rest days: 200P/90C/90F

Training going OK to, HST 15s on a cut is a challenge but I am getting through it.

The cut continues, want to see how I look/feel at around 80kg but thats being optimistic!

Just a quick update on what I'm aiming for on the compounds for HST Friday.

Bench 15x2 @ 67.5kg
Back Squat 15x2 @ 75kg
OHP 15x2 @ 40kg

Only one I might struggle with is the second set on the bench.

Baby weights but cut blah blah.

Still trying to stay focussed on the goal of losing weight and not getting beat up about the lack of weight on the bar.
