I like Phil Collins. :)

I posted the angry emoticon because I was angry that pototolord was angry and made you angry, not that I was angry with Phil or angry with you.
Hey man I'm glad you are also a Phil Collins superfan. IM a litlle concerned that @[FnG]magnolia is angry with Phil, or angry with you, or angry with kelt, or maybe angry with me?

... are you sure likes are not subverted - nothing is sacred.

I think it was a good addition overall. I can't remember when it was added, maybe a year ago? Certainly not before the lockdowns.

I think it's a good addition, stops any posts that are just "I agree" or "+1".

That's how I see it as well. So instead of saying "nice photo", just hit like.

If I do say "nice photo" / "I agree" / +1 etc though, then I'll expand on the post.

What does this even mean?
Brigading in the sense I was meaning is that one of the reasons forums don't implement the like button is certain people gather a group of supporters around them.

So anything that person posts all their supporters will like it.

If anyone has a different opinion to that person then all that fan group starts leaving negative comments or disliking all that persons posts, even when its on different threads.

Brigading is a slang term for an online practice in which people band together to perform a coordinated action, especially a negative one, such as manipulating a vote or poll or harassing a specific person or members of an online community.

This was my initial issue with it before the feature was implemented, but on reflection, I feel it is better to have than not

Your options are let's say 10 users disliking posts/angry face, or 10 people replying to a post to show how stupid/disagreeable the post was

For the person that gets the "dislikes", it's a much quicker experience to see 50 lol/angry face reactions and move on, then it is to read 50 posts saying "this is dumb"

For that reason I think it is actually a good thing. I always prefer a written reply, but get that likes/angry face/lol face, help tidy and shorten the impact of negative and positive responses towards each reply.

I alway advise that users turn off the notifications for reactions. No idea why that'd be on as standard.

They're a good and practical way of indicating feelings without having to bump the thread itself.

I would like a :thumbsup:emoji, that'd be rad.
:edit: I tried to be clever by adding a thumbs up emoji from my phone keyboard. Didn't work. I swear I've seen other people do it successfully.

I assumed that's what you were going for but were being extra clever by not actually using the thumbs up, simply implying it. Next level 4-D chess.

It is possible to enable full emoji support on the forum.
