Poll: May we have a second referendum on the like button?

I'll often read a post that's useful but I don't want to reply just to spam "thanks", especially it's an older post and I don't want to bump the thread. For those reasons it's really useful to at least let the poster know it helped.

Whilst we're on the subject of modernisation, why can't we post emoji apart from the built in smileys? Once you submit a message it just disappears. There should be a hmm emoji appear right to here but I bet it'll be stripped out:

I guess you *could* have a rep button but that is pretty much the same issues of people posting for rep rather than content.

I've seen other forums try that and it became quite messy. With many alterations and changes due to abuse.

It's a MySQL collation limitation. it's easy it to fix when they eventually upgrade to XF2. It's been available for over a year, I don't know what their upgrade path looks like given any customisation they've done to the XF1 install.


Me feel the mods are influencing the election here with their poll answers. Reeks of collusion and influence from those in power!
