Mayweather Vs Pacquiao is ON !!!!!

Hopefully it goes ahead. Both of them seem to say they want one big fight before they retire. This is the fight that all boxing fans want to see.

According to BBC Sport, this fight would be the richest in boxing history.

I'm wondering whether or not Pacquaio is on drugs or not. Perhaps for this fight, he will be off the drugs and doesnt mind losing, so much, due to the financial pay-out. Also, if is your last fight, it would difficult to turn down, if it was to be the highest pay day in boxing's history.

Apparantly Pacman has been rushed to hospital today from severe stomach pains. Nothing serious though.

Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao was rushed to the hospital on Sunday afternoon due to stomach pain and over fatigue associated with gastroesophageal reflux disease or acid reflux, according to Jake Joson, a member of team Pacquiao.

Pacquiao has a prior history of stomach problems and acid reflux, he has been hospitalized before and his acid reflux gets triggered or reoccurs when he misses meals and doesn’t eat.

Joson said there is no need to worry Manny is doing fine and the doctor’s said the peoples champ just needs some time to rest.

I would have thought that it would be nov/dec time if it did happen. I can see Mayweather demanding more of the purse as he thinks he is responsible for the majority of the attraction to the fight. He done it against De La Hoya (biggest grossing fight atm) and against Mosley. i can see prize money also being an issue here.

Well I think they already agreed in principle to a 50/50 split, so I can't really see it being a sticking point in the upcoming negotiations unless one side is looking for some excuses.

That was before, this is now.. Mayweather / Mosely pulled in twice as many PPV's compared to Pac-Man vs Clottey..

What would be a fair comparision would be DLH & Ricky Hatton bouts since both have fought and all were PPV. Anyone know what the final PPV's were for that? Even then an argument could be had that Hatton has his own following as does DLH.

Mayweather is the bigger attraction over in the USA and most money will be coming in from the HBO PPV, so he does have a good case to ask for more of the split.

vs DLH:
Mayweather: 2.45 million buys ($137 million)
PacMan: 1.25 million buys ($70 million)

vs Hatton:
Mayweather:915,000
PacMan: 825,000

No matter what way you look at it, Mayweather generates more PPV sales and a lot more revenue from PPV than Pacquiao does.

I'm not buying this PPV info. The DLH coming off a win over Mayorga and fighting for the middleweight title in what was seen as a legit competitive match with the best P4P fighter was always going to sell more than the DLH coming off a lacklustre performance against the unrated Forbes to fight Pac in a match largely seen as illegit with one fighter possibly washed up, and both fighters fighting well outside of their weight division. And it has nothing to do with Mayweather or Pac's relative draw.

Then we have the Hatton fights, but we all know how important that 0 beside someone's name is when it comes to being a big draw. Against Mayweather he had the 0, but by the time of Pacquiao, he had lost it. And actually the numbers for both of those fights were incredibly similar, which if anything shows how strong of a draw Pacquiao really is after his blinding win over DLH.

In response to my claim that the 50/50 had been agreed in principle, it was crucially said that "That was before, this is now". Mosley himself is a PPV worthy attraction, especially after that performance over Margo. Clottey on the other hand couldn't sell a PPV to his own grandmother. Mayweather-Mosley was always expected to outperform Pac-Clottey. So what has changed from "before"? Certainly not much.

Give one piece of evidence that Mosley is a PPV fighter, he has pretty much zero fans and never has had any. For all the fighters he has been in with and not once got over 1 million buys shows just how badly supported he is.

How about six pieces of evidence? One for each boxing PPV that he has headlined.

Maybe you didn't understand what I was saying. I'm not saying that he's a pacquiao or Mayweather or DLH style PPV draw, but he is very much PPV worthy, and before the mayweather fight he was the next best thing.

I personally found Mosley to be one of the most exciting fighters out there. He just needed to do a little more trash talking to get his numbers up.. Too much of a nice guy. In his defense, he was widely regarded as Mayweathers toughest opponent, to which he dismantled quite easily. To me, i was as excited to see that fight as the pacman / mayweather fight. Shame it turned out to be a wet firework.. Well apart from the 2nd round ! $60 for 3mins excitment was still a lot to pay though. Problem with Mayweather is he just walks through his opponents with ease. Which is what he'll probably do with Pac-man. Not as excited for this fight after seeing how he dealt with Mosley.

Maybe with Roger behind bars, which he stands a good chance of being come this summer, it'll have a big impact on Floyd's ability. May even the odds a little.
