Mayweather Vs Pacquiao is ON !!!!!

Also Arum is confident this fight will get signed and Roger Mayweather is already biggin it up by saying his nephew will kick Pacmans ass. His actual words were Mosley was a better fighter than Manny and look what Floyd did to him .

Expect a date to be confirmed within the next 7-10 days is my guess.

Heres a heart warming read... Just goes to show, he's not a complete ass. Actually other than when he's hyping up his fights, he's quite decent..(considering his early background) And he's always respectful of the other fighters after the fight.

I know thats his boxing gym but how vain is he, Mayweather all over the place, yanks always up themselves.

Cheap.

Also MW is ducking, he is in his prime and is on about taking 18 months, FOR WHAT, get it done, nothing but ducking. Since Hatton in 2007 he has had 2 fights and dicked about in WWF, he good but the money is the root of his exsistance now, he is waiting a year to let Pacman chill and go for a mega big bucks fight.

Take a year or two off, wait for Many to retire or become a politician...

I wouldn't want to fight Pacquiao if I was Mayweather, as soon as he loses a fight he will have to fight some very dangerous fighters to get paid the same money.

Mayweather has already retired once and unless he's very silly with his money (a la Tyson) then he has absolutely no need to fight for the money.

The above also assumes that Mayweather will lose and want to continue fighting which is far from guaranteed.

The chances of Mayweather losing are slim. He is just too good.

I realise that there are many people who don't like his attitude and want to see him lose, but sometimes you have to be realistic in life and accept when a sportsman is the best at what he does...irrespective of your own personal dislike for him.

Thats what I'm saying, a loss to Manny (and he would more than likely lose that fight) and he would have to fight the likes of Paul Williams and Miguel Cotto to get the mega pay days. Fights I cant see Floyd Maywather taking as he will have to take a lot of punishment to win.

I could care less about his attitude to be honest, it's the way he fights, it's boring. He talks the big show talk, but when he gets in the ring it makes me fall asleep. Now obviously boxing is a sport and you fight how you want to fight to win, but entertainment is a big part of it as well, otherwise they wouldn't get the payouts they do.

Have you actually watched mayweather fight yet or are you still getting your boxing knowledge from books :p

Mayweather is just too good.

Before the Hatton fight, I'd never seen him fight, but after that match, I read up on him and it would appear that he is the real deal and has one heck of a boxing pedigree.

I honestly can't see Mayweather getting beaten, unless something out of the ordinary happens.

I've seen him fight...of course. The guy knows how to win. He has a defensive style which some people think is boring, but it works for him.

In the last fight, we saw him attack more. As a result he almost got knocked out, but the fact that he came back after receiving a very strong hit, shows us that he can not only dish out punishment, but he also knows how to take it.

A lot of people have been predicting/hoping he loses, but this has not materialised.

Of course, in boxing (and in any sport), the favourite can lose (Lennox Lewis knows all about this), but IMO the odds of him beating Pacquaio are better than 50%.

Even if we allow that Mayweather loses the fight (and I'm far from accepting that as a likely consequence) then what incentive is there to fight again unless for a rematch? He doesn't need the money, he's already beaten the best the division has to offer, it's only his legacy that could be in danger and he's not going to be able to shake off a defeat except by beating the man who beat him.

Mayweather has scarcely appeared to take any punishment in any fight so far, maybe the two you mention will be different but maybe not. It's all very much hypothetical though - Mayweather vs Pacquiao is the fight being talked about, what happens after that is only really worth thinking about when the fight is done as up to that point either fighter has beaten pretty much everyone of note in their division.

Mayweather has not been in the ring with a fighter as good as Manny Pacquiao and thats one of the main reasons he has an undefeated record. Another is as he has aged he has moved up weight / retired and missed the opportunity to fight some very good fighters.

And Pacquiao hasn't been in the ring with a fighter as good as Mayweather, see how this goes? Until and unless we see the fight it is difficult to say with any degree of certainty who is the better fighter - you can say whose style you prefer but that's about it without it being merely a best guess approach.

The fight is off, but I am convinced that is because Maywaether doesn't want the fight because he knows he will more than likely have to take a loss or a rematch.

If Manny was retired he could cherry pick his fights until his retirement and make a fortune from his undefeated record. I think thats what he was hoping for.
