Maz's done it again! Ive just brought a V8 range rover!!!

youve driven trucks? What do you class as a "truck"? Also by saying youve driven lots of cars and vans etc doesnt make you gods gift to driving, hell i drive a Renault Master practically everyday and ive bumped it once! People can drive their entire lives but they can still crash. I assure you that you will crash, you got the wrong attitude to driving. Enjoy your licence. It aint gonna last long! One more thing... why the hell have you bought a range rover when you just lost your job?

Mazza -

You cant use dayinsure as you're only 18. You have to be 21.

My advice to you is to sell the vectra and the Range Rover. When I was unemployed the last thing I thought about doing was buying a car. You're heading towards debt and thats not a good place to be.

Just have a year or two not driving and save up :)

A note to fox:....

Got an answer for everything aint ya fox, why dont you run for priminister ?

Becuase knowing that buying cars on impulse isn't something that would be of much use at Number 10.

And what you just dont seem to get into your head is that there was nothing wrong with my first car, i just sold it because it was too slow,

After everyone on here told you it would be BEFORE you bought it...

the next vectra i did have lots of problems with i admit, so i brought a v6, the v6 was the nicest thing at the moment ive owned,
nout wrong with that i just couldnt get insured so it had to go

See what I mean? All you need is a bit of forward planning and you can avoid all the issues - ie, an insurance quote before you buy etc.

The rover was a terrible mistake (although i got given that), and ive now ive seen this day insure thing, ill just get insured each time for a day if i go to get the car, and ill use day insure to drive the car when im greenlaneing and driving to the 4x4 track.

No you won't, becuase Dayinsure will only cover over 21's.

Also as to your remark of you've gone 'OMG A RANGE ROVER' and thats the extent to your thinking, are you calling me small minded?, because if so, you really can kiss my ass.

Hmmm, polite eh? I've remained polite and rational throughout and all I've offered is my opinion - I am saying you seem to forget to plan and think about things before you do it, and as a result, you end up doing things you perhaps shouldnt.

And you keep suggesting im going to have a crash ? but i ent had one yet have i ?

I suggested the chances of having an accident in an unroadworthy V8 Range Rover are higher than having one in something else. Surely you can see my point here?

But hey "poo" happens.

But you can minimise the chances of this happening with a bit of forward planning and research :)

I live near Luton, next time I see an old range rover I'm getting out my car and running 50's horror movie style.

And to the extent of this thread now, yes-------I do have a dont care attitude.
Sorry for rattling everyones cage.

You aren't sorry, so don't say it. But please do me a favour - put a spot more thought into your vehicle purchases in future :)

Next purchase...

:D

Pity i stay near Luton :(

It kinda sums up a lot of young car owners . You broke the law and you dont care ..And im sure the vectra aint just sitting on the drive while its uninsured .
You will learn yer lesson soon enough and it will be a very expensive one . I just hope you dont kill anyone in the process .

Insuring yourself on a vehicle under someone elses name (on the basis they'll be using the car more than you, when they're not) is ILLEGAL.

WOAH. No it's not. It is legal if you explain it's what you're doing. It's how I intend to save a lot of money legally insuring a 530d.

Its insurance fraud which is illegal, Iam not saying a copper will arrest you for it but thats only because it would be hard to prove

Heh you never fail to bring a smile to my face maz :p

Perhaps you shouldn't share your car habbits with us any more :p

Like he said, it's only fraud if you lie/deceive/misinform the insurer. If you tell them exactly what the situation is and they say 'That is fine', its above board.

They'll almost certainly say 'No, clear off' but if they do say its fine, its not fraud - fraud is lying for financial gain.

No, it's not fraud if you tell them that's what you're doing. It is NOT illegal if you are open with them.

Fox you are a bit ghey and do have answers for everything :(

What do you want me to do, pretend I don't have an opinion becuase a few people who think its a laugh to drive around without paying for insurance think those who dare to suggest it's stupid 'are ghey'?

Mazza, look m8 its simple, Fox has given you advice that is sound and perfectly right, most people in the thread are right, you drive a car with no insurance, especially at your age is gonna kill you for the future... fair enough impulse buying is daft.. I do it all the time, but I have a job to support it... why spend cash on that sorta thing if you have no FT job to support it?

And to add, please think of others on the road... not just what you want. We all have to use the roads and have the right not to be put in danger because of someones 'impluse' buying... Its selfish and wrong. End of.
