McDonald’s general discussion

Ok, if you’re on your own, you’re not buying a bbq, mince, buns, salad, cheese and sauce for 33% of the price of a Maccies burger.

secondly, McDonald’s is fast food. It’s what people want to eat at 10 o’clock at night. They don’t want to be making burgers and barbecuing in the dark while full of beer.

Nit everybody likes doing all that from scratch anyway.

I do enjoy a maccies. Chicken selects are amazing. The McCrispy is my current go-to meal. Super convenient to pick up on the way home from work on the odd occasion.

Not sure if I've had McDonald's this year. I've only had 5 guys once ever..

You can buy a BBQ, some high fat mince beef, and make your own 100% better, for 33% of the price and not feed capitalism.
You only work a couple of hours a day though? People who have busier days don't have the time nor inclination sometimes.

Also I live in a top floor flat, would be unpopular with the neighbours, management company, fire brigade, etc. if I started BBQing indoors.
Nah mate just tell them you're from Overclockers and the pet cow you have is there to ensure you use only organic beef that you killed yourself.

Our almost local has done well to expel the imported London hood rat **** kids that have flooded Kent and the car park is usually full of Euro2 vehicles with engines running, while the occupants shout praise to McD for finally ditching plastic straws

Another chicken legend fan here, had to move on to the mccrispy as an alternative but the legend was decent fayre, cant see why they abolished it, sales numbers I guess?

My kids like Maccies so they have it about once a week. I'll sometimes join them, but I always feel bloated and lethargic afterwards. I prefer Burger King and never have those symptoms after an XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger.

As much as I love the ability to order food without having to repeat the order to a cashier, I miss the days of handing over a fiver and the cashier reaches behind and serves up a pre-melted burger that has been perfectly resting in the warming rack for 5 minutes and no wait for me. Waiting 15-20 minutes for a double cheeseburger is a joke.

At least you know your food is probably being prepped fresh (for McDonald’s standards)
I think, certainly as far as burgers and fries goes, everything at McDonald's is prepared fresh.

They haven't had the "grab one off the rack" setup for years, at least not in the UK.

A barbecue and some mince isn't much use when you're hungry in a town centre or driving home from somewhere.

The barbecue and the mince are also produced by capitalist companies, and sold in a capitalist supermarket...

I have noticed it is a bit busier than it used to be and have often muttered to myself 'pfft fast food' while waiting in the drive through. I always use the app, its generally much quicker, it would probably speed things up if more people used it. The deliveroo/uber etc drivers doesn't help though.

Nothing wrong with a MCdonalds or BK etc, at the end of the day its just convenient sometimes.

They need to start having a dedicated delivery section / staff member that only preps their food for these stupid delivery services :(

There is nothing ‘fast’ about McDonald’s. It’s literally epitomising the slow food movement. I’ve grown old waiting for their food whilst parked up at the request of their drive through queue. Following an epic 45 min wait a few weeks back I actually refused to park up the other day and the very first thing they did was threaten to call the Police on me. I enquired if I’d broken any criminal laws whilst awaiting the food I’d paid for, which did shut them up to be fair… but it’s probably the last time I’ll visit that Maccies as it just takes too long to get fed.
