McDonald’s general discussion

Best fast food sauce is the KFC supercharger. They used to sell bottles of it, think it was 1L for about £5. Bought it once then they stopped selling the bottles :(

Best sauce by a country mile is Nando's source l sauce closely followed by peri mayo.

insanity.. the best chilli mayo is this..
Add the sauce to taste... you have to be carefull with it...

Bloody nandos, lol! That has to be a mickey take!

It's amazing the power of marketting and brand power though.

People flock to these places like sheep, and even believe (just look at this thread) that they are getting good for for a good price.

It's pretty sad really.

It's a shame because when you have an already struggling high street, these franchises will put local business under that cannot compete.

Fortuntely not all the country is like this, we spend a lot of time in North Norfolk and there literally isnt a McDonalds or for that matter any of those american chains there, the high streets are much better and the towns are nice places. There are independent firms that are providing better food and supporting the local economy. I am sure there are other parts like this. To be fair there isnt one near where I live either, but I live in the middle of nowhere so that doesnt really count.

There's one in Cromer (Middlebrook Way, Cromer NR27 9JR) but mostly that whole area would probably struggle with an 8 seater café :D

Generally the High Street has been dying a slow death since the early mid 90's and fingers could be pointed towards the supermarkets and the other giants that moved into area's just outside of the towns and large villages, rather than the fast food giants.

Surely by employing local labour and paying local rates, these fast food places are doing exactly what that 3* place up the road is doing and I've seen many an indie, Gastro and quality restaurant pretty busy and offering "American chains" type food done to a high standard.

Would you queue over an hour to try Wendy’s?
A new one opened recently that my brother and I tried. It was busy and we waited about half an hour for our food. It was also expensive. I think more than Five Guys.
When the food came we both thought it looked small but actually, it was very filling.
It’s a bit out of the way for us so not somewhere we’ll regularly go to. It was OK.

McD’s (and BK and KFC) are pretty expensive these days. Paid £6.90 for a McD’s the other day and £8 for a BK, £8.50 for KFC in the last few weeks.

Every time I have a McDonald’s I have to have beef and chicken. I don’t mind which, but it’s usually a quarter pounder and a mayo chicken. I think I have a problem :) Also an apple pie, have to have an apple pie :D best thing on the menu!
