McDonalds

There's fewer things quite as "wrong" feeling as putting a McDonald's meal on an actual plate and using cutlery.
That’s probably why Wimpy fell to its knees. I remember an advert for them in the 90s that their food is served on“china plates” (think it was Hugh Laurie doing the VO). Can’t find the advert online.

Still 67 Wimpys in the UK. Nearest one to me is Peterborough, 37 miles away. Still surprised at that many exist.

the cinammon? apple pie thing they used to sell was lethal...scalding hot apple puree **** encased in pastry with icecream soother :p
McDs did a cherry pie version during limited times. That was beaut. Plus at Christmas did a mince pie version.

Now it’s McFlurries.

Surely cold/barely warm food is a non-issue if you are eating in a branch anyway, as you just take it back up to the counter and tell them the problem?

Also, cherry pie?? Never seen that, sounds dangerously addictive.

The very definition of fast (but expensive) junk food suggests the purchasers are idle, and or disorganised. Add in having it delivered by some stranger with sanitary habits one can only imagine, with the opportunity to interfere with the delivery, suggests an even more laisssez faire attitude to what you eat.

The only good thing is the company hasn't succumbed to providing only Halal food to those that would not want to embrace the practices of slaughter involved. As someone who thinks immigration is out of control it would be wrong for me to knowingly use companies who use large numbers of them, so if practical, I don't.
Which why I’m fussy which KFC I go to. There’s only one KFC out of the nearest 4 to me. Halal KFCs don’t offer bacon on their burgers.

It was only available about 4 weeks of the year in two periods. Must be mid 00s I last ate a McDs cherry pie.

The first packaging https://www.pinterest.co.uk/pin/482237072570561366/ was the one I remember

Having done both, I can’t see the harm.

Unless things are drastically different in Scouseland compared to the rest of the UK, people’s food is pretty safe :)

Scouseland?...how dare you insult me like that lol. I work in the Wirral but live in Chester :)

I'll stick with what I've learned about delivery drivers over many years but feel free to use deliveroo and uber eats for food as often as you want to matey. I prefer to collect my own food and even watch it being made if it's a takeaway I haven't used before. I'm very fussy :)

Wish the Deliveroo etc cyclists know the rules of the road and as to cycling in heavy pedestrian traffic, is another thing.

Almost collided with a Deliveroo cyclist when I driving down a one way street. He was cycling down the wrong direction!

No rules of the road for cyclists.
Traffic light on Red? So what.
1 way street? Not bothered.

It's still common culture to eat hamburger and fries with a knife and fork in northern Sweden. Its weird AF.
The southerns laugh at them.

It's like everyday is a wimpy day :p

Yeah I've had to microwave McDonald's, but now I order it knowing that I'll likely have to do that. It still tastes fine. Also, not sure if intended, but the apple pie (in the long carboard tube) that Mc D's do is gorgeous after it has been nuked in the microwave for 30 secs!

Top Tip: When you microwave your McDonalds, stick a glass with some tap water in the microwave with it.

Cherry & Mince pies were gorgeous. Shame they stopped them but I'm guessing because they took quite a while to cook (well deep fry) the wastage was big

As you say it's now 'special' ice-creams. I won't call them Flurries. Worked for McD's in the early 2000s whilst at uni when they were introduced. It was hammered into staff that it wasn't a McFlurry unless it was spun in the 'machine'.

These days it's just ice cream in a tub with a topping on top.

I gave a statement on Friday night after witnessing a deliveroo cyclist t-bone a taxi. Cyclist at fault due to a, cycling in a pedestrian zone with cycling prohibited signs, downhill at speed & b, failing to stop for the crossing at the bottom where there is a crossing for a road used frequently by buses/taxis into the bus station. It was a heavy hit too as he managed to crease the roof of the taxi.

This has triggered my little McD rant for the thread. Why oh why are *mint* McFlurries NOT an ALL YEAR ROUND thing?? Why save it just for christmas. I want mint flurries on tap all year round thank you very much. What has christmas got to do with mint anyway? Blatant mintism. :)

Migrants aside, I tend to agree that I'm amazed how lazy people are to go and collect their own junk food. Then again, if you're going to eat junk you may as well go all in and not move for it.

Just make your own. The mint fondant and chocolate are the same as cheap 'post 19:59:99' mints.
