No Paddy Lowe there hmmmmmm I think the Merc W04 will have a nose like the Mclaren as well.

Longer wheelbase, pull rod suspension and tighter rear end, I think that's all we can conclude for now.

Whitmarsh has said (today) that Lowe is at McLaren this year, but beyond that he doesn't know.

Apparently it was Lowe's decision not to be at the launch, which seems strange as it just adds to more speculation. I guess if the media got hold of him though that's all he'd be asked about, rather than the car.

Just rewatched the Bruce McLaren but of the launch. Absolutely beautifully done. About as good as McLaren's video's ever get.

They've got a couple more about the M8D, but this is my favourite - 40th anniversary of Bruce's death.

(although it has just lost something now that I realise they didn't write that film specially, they have just paraphrased his Wikipedia article...

Maybe Im imagining it - but I thought I had seen some of that Bruce McLaren film before.....

Still very well done, but yes it would have been nice to see something brand new

Looking at that picture, to my untrained ill informed eyes, there is no way in hell that it is a stepped nose piece, looks more like an internal structure to me, the angles are all wrong..

edit: course, it could just be upside down..

Doesn't it look too small? In any case I can't believe it would be left 'lying around' so that the media could take a photo of it.
