Well well well. Disney staff certainly won’t like this. So much for the “agenda” being in people’s heads.
Well done Disney you managed to make a half decent show but you really have killed the Starwars franchise. Shocking. These viewing numbers are also heavily in favour of Disney!
Star Wars needs put on a 5-10 year break. Sack your current writing teams and hire actual talent and not hacks and come out with a new trilogy not linked to OG movies.

I haven't watched the show but the reviews suggest it's not bad. It's problem much like Andor is that it follows much noisier crap. Andor followed Kenobi which was utter turd but highly visible turd and didn't get the viewing figures it deserved. Skeleton Crew follow The Acolyte which was all over social media for the wrong reasons and was apparently poo. The only Star Wars series I'm looking forward to is Andor because I have confidence in the show runner.Well done Disney you managed to make a half decent show but you really have killed the Starwars franchise. In what World is Moana 2, the 4th highest grossing movie of the year "being considered a flop"?Disney have certainly been blazing a trail in that policy. I'm shocked to discover that Moana is being considered a flop, and it's not looking good for thunderbolts, brave new world or snow white
alleged production budget of around 250 to 300 million, marketing is easily in the 200 million. Theatre screening cut from tickets come to around 40%, and it's currently about to bow out at 720 million dollarydoos my friend. Inside out 2 closed on 1.7 billion, deadpool and wolverine closed on 1.3 billion. By what reasonable metric that Disney is concerned with would you not consider Moana 2 a failure? In what World is Moana 2, the 4th highest grossing movie of the year "being considered a flop"?
It was originally a comissioned TV series that was repurposed as a movie (in record time) and has made a fortune.
Tracking indicates it will hit $1 billionalleged production budget of around 250 to 300 million, marketing is easily in the 200 million. OK cool. You have a good day.Tracking indicates it will hit $1 billion
There's no metrics where it's considered a flop
I really don't know what they were thinking. Actually i reckon I do - most of this stuff the produce to serve Disney+, but given that Disney+ still isn't technically solvent.Speaking of flops. Mufasa isn’t looking to hot!!

You know it's not because it sits right where i feel star wars should; it's easy for me to feel protective of what I term my star wars[/i] and I feel rightfully so... But for something to endure you need new bums of seats and skeleton crew is actually probably good family viewing. My hope is that they learn from things like Andor and skeleton crew that it's ok to produce stories that service a more mature audience as well as a younger audience. In that spirit I'm looking forward to seeing Ahsoka season 2, to see if they retool things a little (I would like to see Rosario Dawson be a little more of her personality as opposed to the arm crossing, brooding Ahsoka) and how they address Baylon Skol. And i'm genuinely excited for Andor season 2.I haven't watched the show but the reviews suggest it's not bad. It's problem much like Andor is that it follows much noisier crap. The film actually receives good ratings from cinema goers. Disney just don’t understand the audience that are willing to part money to see their content. The budget was also insane.I really don't know what they were thinking. Which actually is a shame because i would argue that from a value prospective in the UK (not so much in the states) access to Disney is brilliant value for the Star tab alone.
Their budgets are an issue that I can't imagine their shareholders are happy with. There are rumours that snow white is approaching something like a half billion. a half billion! The film actually receives good ratings from cinema goers. That shocked me. I've seen a few people try to rationalise it, but I'd still be asking where the money is actually going.Speaking of budgets this is completely bonkers. One of these least watched shows even though it was well received!!
Disney’s $645 Million ‘Andor’ Budget Shows How It’s Lost Control Of ‘Star Wars’
The future of Disney's Star Wars remains unclear, but this latest bit of news about "Andor" must produce a reckoning inside the company of what exactly it's doing.www.forbes.com
Two of my favourite Disney StarWars shows is the least watched. That shocked me. I've seen a few people try to rationalise it, but I'd still be asking where the money is actually going.
i think i recall Tony Gilroy saying that andor seasons 1 & 2 is just the part of rogue one that was considered superfluous for the film production and dropped to the floor which they when proceeded to flesh out and turn into a series - which I'm completely ok with. The plan was always two seasons from what he was saying, but it's one of my favourites that disney has produced as well. see this is the thing - as bad as the star wars shows are, I can't honestly say the production quality is the big issue (although I'd be quite happy if they stopped using the volume quite so much in favour of practical locations which would actually probably be cheaper) - The acolyte and Kenobi (two shows that I take the biggest issues with) were just so iredeemably bad and had some terrible acting and storytelling in it that made it completely unwatchable. Two of my favourite Disney StarWars shows is the least watched.
Will be interesting to see how Andor will finish since they are condescending the show into one final season.
