She was a producer on ET and Jurassic Park. She also produced Indiana Jones, Back to the Future, Schindler's List, The Goonies, Gremlins, Hook etc.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy has responded to reports that she is set to retire later in 2025.
Midnight's Edge have an interesting breakdown of their earlier thinking that she was going to retire but got scooped and is staying because her thunder was stolen and she wants to control the narrative. Sounds believable, TBH.
Which shows a lot of the successes wasn't entirely down to her. She just rode on the back of Speilberg and Lucas success and ideas. She was allegedly known as a glorified tea lady indeed.

It really doesn't matter, she wasn't at the helm then and reportedly was not very involved. At the helm, she had fumbled the running of arguably the world's largest movie franchise to a point it is now ruined.

That may be for true some but for most it's got absolutely nothing to do with people's political views or biases. Most just want a good SW continuation that is faithful to the original OG movies and stories. Not a radical shift in spectrum that turns SW into a unrecognisable mess loaded with divisive topics that has frankly no place in these types of movies.. It's not what made this franchise popular imo and brings too much friction between fans and movie goers alike. Their lack of success is largely been hampered because KK driven projects has been written for a agenda rather than a good story. That's the difference.

Although I've disliked this period of Star Wars content I am absolutely certain in this era Empire would be picked apart and ridiculed in the same manner. Equally ridiculous parts in the plot and 'space science' but we didn't care because we were <14. Even Rogue one when I went to see it this year for the Cineworld reshowing I thought was boring for the most part. I didn't hate acolyte as much as the internet but neither did I think it was a good story.
I read everything ever released in Star Wars EU until they killed it and even I can admit for the hundred odd books I read only about 15 of them were good quality writing. There was a ton of dross. But they made Luke into what 12 year old me thought he'd become so I suffered the drivel.
MCU I've found easier to turn my back on because I always thought comics were **** so had no investment in it. It ended with thanos for me, inifinity war is one of my all time fav watches but I just cannot get on with what came afterwards. I think they got lucky with a few hits surrounded by some utter cack but there was enough of a main villian story running through to carry you to the next film. If you break down Phase 1-3 there really isn't that many 8/10+ films in there especially without Cap!
