Me Again...I Can't Decide on a Car..

.... and it's slightly overpowered for the car.

Has your mate just passed his test?
My Civic diesel is fine, the engine doesnt in any way feel to powerful for the car.
I find the interior of the Civic to be better than a comparable Focus (i've had a Focus ST), it is quite a stiffish ride but adds a sporty element, no complaints from me.

I'd say that was an odd comment too - mine with +40ish bhp over standard feels fine too, handles tidily enough and I don't even really mind the ride. Agree r.e the interior, it's screwed together far far better than any focus i've had though it's hardly pretty.

I think there comes a time in everyone's lives when having an expensive car takes a back seat and more everyday things take priority.

I have been there a couple of times and once again I'll be downsizing to a cheap run around for the foreseeable future in the summer. With the price of fuel, insurance etc it is a serious commitment running some of the cars you mentioned. I see the logic in your decision but not sure I would have gone for the Civic. I probably would have gone for a £5k Focus or something along those lines.

Of course he has. The new 1.6 Diesel wold suit it better, he's just given his 325d back and 120d is coming next week.

They have simply wacked a big Accord 2.2 into a hatchback afterall.

There's only about 100 kg difference between a Civic and an Accord. Hardly going to make the Civic suddenly a raging beast with the same engine.
