Mechwarrior Online. Yes, really :)

I haven't read up on this latest version, but would be amazing if they could incorporate ground fighting as well as using Mechs.

Level up using an actual character, have skills etc, think am asking for too much.

You are im afraid. Im sure i read somewhere this will be mech only combat.

Not so sure about powered armour - you'd get stomped all over. :p

Online you'd hope that you could do raids (PvP or PvE), take a share of salvage and upgrade your mechs that way.

There is not going to be any PvE at launch although they hope to put in later.....I imagine this like battletech 3025 if anyone played that before it got canned at Beta stage? It was superb

have been following this for a while now, i hope its good mechcommander and mw have been sorely missed.
the way the module layout has been described seems similiar to an early eve online.

Quite limited at the moment, seems to be basically a lobby and arenas from what they're saying. Bit of a waste of the licence :(

Also to add, a dev said exactly this on the forums.

"Yes. It's the in-game HUD. Yes it's the in-game cockpit. Yes it's the in-game Atlas."

This has awesomeness potential. At least from the sneak peek trailer the scale looks cool.

They keep updating their FB page a lot now under GDC so hopefully they'll release more material soon. :)

I'm shocked and disappointed at how little reaction this game has gotten on OCUK.

I thought there would be far more Battletech fans here.

I have to admit, some of this sounds brilliant :

MechWarrior Online is more simulation than arcade
In the center of the HUD there are two aiming reticles, a circle and a cross. The circle represents where weapons mounted on the arms will fire while the cross represents where all other weapons will fire. When the ’Mech’s torso is not currently rotating, the two reticles will align over top of each other and all weapons will fire on the same point. When the player rotates the torso’s pitch or twist, the ’Mech’s arms and their reticle lead the rotation while the slower torso follows
In addition to what’s displayed on the actual HUD, the monitors in the cockpit will also display information about the ’Mech. While some of the monitors may be in the pilot’s normal field of view, they can all be seen by free looking around the cockpit. The information displayed on them is generally of a secondary or tertiary nature, like the status of the ’Mech’s actuators or heat sinks, or more detailed information about the distribution of ammunition within the ’Mech.

They're not messing about
