Mechwarrior Online. Yes, really :)

Yeah looks like this one that small mech in the video, scouting and general nuisance for the bigger mechs, that can be me! Gnawing at a leg rawr

Last Mechwarrior I played was 2 on my DX2 66MHz so I'm very rusty with the lingo/mechs :D

Yeah those were called elementals in MW2, which was the best MW game IMO, 3 was ok but 4 sucked balls and the GFX were terrible for the time.

This one looks like MW2 with beefed up GFX [weep]JOy![/weep]

Looks great, hope i can play this because i tried to play mw4 but it just was overly complicated the controls and gameplay if i remember right. Which for some isnt a bad thing but im far too used to wasd and mouse only these days with a few occasional hotkeys for mmo like sto.

If they make the game complex but the controls and learning curve smoother and easier then i think id like this a lot. Always used to want to like mw games since the 90s but couldnt get into them.

Hmm remembering now that i was asked to model a mech and it came out pretty good in lightwave. Wonder where i put it.

F2p so i take it there gona make the money from mech of the month then on the cash shop it has most of the time.

Really? I thought it was fine, just had to get used to grouping your weapons right. I hope they don't dumb this down in any way - will be so much win... I want to recreate the fun builds I had in MW4 - skirmishing Thor and Thanatos <3

If they do this justice, I will be weeping tears of joy!

Nice, it's good to hear they're not going down a stock chassis sort of scheme. In the video on the last page, he quite clearly says there'll be chassis, chassis subvariants, and then further customisation in the mechlab. 'Don't want that missile weapon you're not using effectively as you're trying to be the best scout you can be, dump it, increase your armour, or your engine size using the hardpoint system'.

Sweet...customisable mechs :D

I have been rubbing myself off for days to those screenshots.

And the trailer, my god. The only way it could be better if there was a trailer with a Timberwolf in it (proper name you IS free-births).

That wont happen until at least a year after the game launch. Since the game starts at 3049, and the clans invade in 3050.

What's nice is that each RL day is a day in the game :D

Just watched the gdc footage, got chills <3 Mechwarrior. Hope they get a Mad Cat in, my favourite mech :D

Again, not for at least a year since afte the launch and the real name is Timber Wolf, you freebirth scum!!:D:D

It's still going to be interesting how they will introduce the clan mechs without everyone swarming over them.

In the Lore it took a few years before the IS developed their own OmniMechs and were able to stand against the clans.

As i mentioned before i was asked to model a mech once for someone. I never did remember what the name of it was. Maybe someone can tell me.

Here is a pic.

Does anyone remember the Mechwarrior thing at Trocadero, god knows when, late 90's maybe? It was a room of fairly big "pod" type things(would have been even more awesome if you climbed into a full on mech/cockpit) which was basically the mech cockpit, few screens, and it was set up inside like a mech rather than just arcade thing. Joysticks, then rows of buttons to divert power to certain weapons, or engines and stuff. It was so ridiculously freaking awesome but only ever got the chance to go once.

I seem to recall something on like Gamesmaster a thing about it in the states where various arcades had the pods and they played online as a group against another group in another arcade?

Mechwarriors have always been freaking awesome :p

That was the Imaginator IIRC. Alien War was the best thing about the Trocadero back then... Gutted that I only went twice. I've still got the tickets! :D

one of the best BattleTech intros IMHO :) really gives you that feel for the game :
"<scary eyes and voice> Track that Pod!!!"

Big Al
also a great one :

TimberWolf for the win :D

well it certainly has a lot of potential thats for sure :)

wonder what they're going to do about wepon groupings one of the good things about MW3 was the abbility to place weopons any any slot like theboard game which they removed from MW4.

Regarding the Clans, well i can see them possibly introducing a persistant game play were it becomes Clans vs IS that'd be amazing to repay B.T. history, Battle of Tukayyid anyone???

i've been enjoying the Novels a lot to, "Wolfs on the Boarder" was my first and "Decision at Thunder Rift" my second, slowly working my way through the books and up to : "Way of the Clans" so a good way through the books.

Don't suppose you have a link to the order the books should go in? I read a few of them years and years ago, very enjoyable.
