Did you ad the Capured enemies(the numbers in brackets) to it when you added it up?

Ahhh, was wondering what that was :p

I'm carrying on with my campaign atm. I have a set army of men which has quite a lot of rank 2-3 people in it, destroys anything in it's path. :D Simply return them back to a specific town, repair them all and off I go!

When you select your Army you can press the leter M on the key board and it will take fill up half dead Units with men from other half dead unit cards.

Press M a couple times untill it stops filling them up :)

(Im not sure if it effects rank though)

that will also lower their "experience" if you loose a lot of men in a unit thats got 3 experience and refresh the ranks with fresh soldiers from local city. It lowers their experience. Just a little warning.

Oh and I noticed another thing, marching your armies through desert kills a few off due to dehydration....doh! i only found this out as I was 1 turn away from assaulting a rebel stronghold, only to find out half my army had died on the way

Damn, just before I was going to make light work of two French citys the danes (Currently allied with Spain) demanded tribute or they would attack, I payed, they attacked anyway.

They attack a full stack I had camped out in a fort just off the French border, I sent them away but I need to send my army back for retraining now, Im getting attacked from all sides :( Danes from the East, French from the South-East and Spain from the South. Ill have to whip out a few sacraficial armys to throw at my Enemys to maybe ware them down, ceasefires? french, no chance, Spain, to deep in with them now, Danes... Maybe but its gonna take some magical powers :P.

I didnt know that about the dehydration that's a great little addition. It's these things that really add atmosphere if you ask me.

Just finshed my first campaign, didnt reach the victory conditions but controlled all of Spain and France and got beaten back by the Papal states and the Milanese. Didnt take part in one Crusade either!

Now to the next one - I think I'll go for something completely different.

This game is no longer a game! It's a god damn actual war! I've spent the past 3 days playing this game for around 6hours straight, my fingers are bleeding from biting them and i'm getting stressed out :p

Just about to start my Milan campaign! Looks like if you win a Victory with any of the first 6 ( I think?) factions it unlocks all of them :)

Since im like an fps junkie when it comes to games tbh, only other rts I played was COH and thats different from TW, TW is more on a mass scale so many warriors to command, so if anyone has the time or can help by giving a short tip guid, i.e how to command all the troops to best effect, the setup of the best team consists of....? etc. Cheers.

I basically go all out infantry. Aslong as you can hold the line straight, you should eventually get through. Always have your commander just behind the line just incase any start to run, in that case use the special ability to hopefully get them back. Typically, in my main armies, I have around 10 packs of melee infantry, 4 horsemen(including your general), 4 archers / crossbows and finally 2 cannons for wall breaking.

I normally split all my infantry into two teams (ctrl + 1 and 2) then send the one in at a time, this prevents all your soldiers getting tired even if they ain't taken a swing at anyone. Always try to spread your men out evenly. If you launch that group of 5men at a line of their men, they will usually form a giant ball of uselessness and eventually get circled and begin to run.

If there are archers on walls use your cannons (you should have 2 groups like I said) to shoot seperate parts of the wall around them. Hard to explain so i'll show you:

--Shoot Wall Here-- Soldiers on Wall --Shoot Wall Here--

That will cause all the archers to instantly fall off the wall as they have no way to get off, simple :)

If your enemies arn't moving towards you and have no archers just send all your archers and cannons on them, speed up time and watch them waste all their ammo. Then send all your troops in (evenly!!!) and watch them win.

The RTS battles are the easy part! its the tactical map where lots of thinking come into play!

The normal english army I use which seems pretty balanced are;

4 x units of Longbowmen (Archer types)
4 x English Knights (Heavy Cavalry)
4 x English Swordsmen (Heavy Infantry)
4 x Dismounted Knights (Heavy Infantry but good against other armour) or 4 x Spearmen depending on whether its a seige army or field army
3 x Units of various artillery, mixture of gunpowder and standard trebuchets etc
1 x General if possible for moral boosters

General deployment for me consists of;

m2twlineuptj7.jpg

This allows your archers to fire without being hassled by charging enemy, spearmen can also take a charge by enemy cavalry.

Once the enemy engage in my front line, i bring the archers to the rear of the army to provide support, bring the 2 Heavy Cav units from around each side and flank the enemy, and plug the gaps in my front line with my heavy troops

What are people's thoughts on when you have swordsmen for example in melee with something else and then have archers behind? Do people still fire into their own troops?

I tend to either cease fire, or if there is another line of enemy infantry that hasnt engaged in combat i switch my fire to them

Same. So it's not worth the friendly fire to continue using arrows if another squad is in melee?

I wouldn't, it lowers morale as well which is definitely not worth it as soon as one starts running it can start a chain reaction.

On rare occasions, if there inst any ranged targets I send my archers into melee to bolster lines. If you play as the English the retinue longbowmen with upgraded armour are very good in melee according to their stats.

Works both ways though. Get them to run and you have a lot of free money from ransoms! :p :D

Edit : Not long since I started my Milan campaign and I wanted to be the number #1 for military, and well... I'm flying :D

I'm the dark green line btw!

It's quite nice being the oh mighty powerful. You don't get messed with and if you attack anyone they beg for treaties! Just keep asking for their money :p

Don't get too cocky with demanding tributes. You might just find you get poked in the eye with a pointy stick :D

SiriusB

My military power is above 54,000 now and still rising. People fear me completely. :D It's a new day today and another 6 hour session is about to begin :(

Can I be cheeky and see if people could post more battle reports and screnshots? :D

I might buy it, however how do you think it would run on a C2D 2.16ghz // x1600 // 2Gb Ram Macbook Pro?
