Medieval 2 total war thread

I've not seen that before Pablo to be perfectly honest - the only way to do it now would be by modding I guess - but why would you want to?

Why would I want too? I would imagine in order to stop the effects of poor morale and running out of arrows. Strangely enough!!!! lol.

Seriously, it was something that was available in Rome... for those of us that are not too anal on the realism side of things. However, it looks like CA have removed it from their new baby.

No big shakes, just something I noticed, and couldn't see confirmed within the maunal.

Anyone know if the patch is out?

haha state the obvious I know, but what I meant by that was by removing the morale and adding "unlimited" things is cheating in my books. But each to their own.

Hey, if Creative deem it fit to put in the game as an option, then why not use it.

I'm sure my fraction won't mind a leader that cheats a little... just keep it quiet, in case they find out!!!!!

It can also count against you don't forget, sometimes the only way to win when you are heavily outnumbered is to try and start a rout which spreads though the ranks. Also my tactic of using peasents as archer fodder to use up there ammo would be pretty useless too. As you can imagine I was very popular with my men :p

How would it fair on my system guys?

Amd 64 3500+
Geil 1GB Ram PC3200
Galaxy 6800GT Pre-Clocked
Running at 1280x1024, do have dual screens running but shouldnt affect peformance much.

Thanks.

Should run fine. I'm using almost the same setup and it runs perfectly for me.

LOL! I'm sure your men love you by their side :D Archer fodder. Brilliant description.

Has anyone gone to battle only to find you cannot win because the enemy is out of reach on the map? Too often now I have been faced with soldiers stuck at the top of some hill with no possible way to engage combat which defaults to a loss before it has even begun.

Aside from that, superb game and definitely far superior to Rome TW.

i was gonna post a "which game should i get thread" but i think its decided for me, i loved the shogan total war games and now i want to take over europe and the rest. MUAHHAHAHA

Here's my update, This game is fantastic and really builds on the shogun era. I started playing as english of course and quickly took that 2nd area in france. Soon after that i allied with the french giving them a very good offer.

Keeping a decent force in the french area as i was weary of the spanish coming up the west coast, I proceeded to take most of the United Kingdom and started pounding on the Kilt wearing warriors. The pope wasnt pleased and ordered me to stop for 7 turns. I quite like the pope so i waited then i continued to ground and pound the scotts.

Only 2 turns remained till i was ready to finish off the haggis resistance and then it dawned on me how good a mirror on real life this game is.
The lesson learnt? DAMN FRENCH CAN NEVER BE TRUSTED! They assassinated my King and then attacked me. I had a difficult decision to make, continue to finish off the scottish or quickly go down and help the cause down South.

I dont like leaving any survivers so that they may exact revenge so i decided to finish the job and slay the scottish. I then boarded my ships with my new King and proceded down south to pummel the Alliance breaking brie bandits... The turn finished and what happened? Frigging rebbels sunk my ships with all my armies on board including my new king :(

OMAODJAOSIOIJADOIAJFOAISDJAODAJSDO!!!!!!!!111~@:~@"£@~"?

This weekend I am going to start a new campaign and make sure i punish the French.

well ive just finished my first campaign :)
i played a short campaign as the long one was too hard :p
anyway i won as the scottish and now ive unlocked all the factions. Im gonna play it through again but on a long campaign, what faction would you recommed for easy win :)

Ive decided to play as Egypt on long campaign and im four turns in and have taken over juraleasum. Its a great faction with its desert cavalry that run around in circles firing arrows i managed to kill like 400 troops with 2 regiments :)

Can someone just let me know quickly when I can release the gunpowder love?

I've had the thing pop up to say its been invented but can't seem to build any gunpowder units. England btw.

You need to build the 'Cannon' series of buildings to train gunpowder artillery, and the top level barracks in a huge city should let you recruit infantry with firearms.

ive reinstalled the game and patched it to 1.1 now. Ive decided to do every faction in order on the grand campaign but only the short version as else itll take forever :D
Anyway im playing as england and im a bit rusty my second battle i was winning throughout then i had a choice ending battle or cut down the remaining enemy. So i decided to finish them off and jesus they put up a bigger fight than the actual battle they must have killed like 400 out 470 of my spearmen in the city square and that was with me still raining down arrows.
This is what i love about the game when you think youve got an easy win the enemy might just suprise you :)
