Can someone tell me, do your troops get muddy and blooded up when they are fighting? I always hated that about Rome, that your troops would look pristine after fighting a huge battle and murdering thousands!
I like to get close up and haven't noticed my troops getting dirty (ooer!). The detail is otherwise excellent, though.
The only bug I've noticed so far is an annoying one with missile troops where they go for enemy missile troops no matter who you target with them. It's very annoying.
Other than that, I love the fact you can build multiple units in one turn - it really allows you to crank out the units when you really need them - and not plan 10 years into the future in case you want to attack somewhere!
I only finished playing RTW about 4 months ago and I'm well into this game so far. However, the Pope gets on my nerves - REALLY gets on my nerves. However, I've finished capturing the entire British Isles and now I'm busy slaughtering the French without him messing me around. Just had one of those great battles where my one army decimated two full stacks of Frenchies.....bliss (well, apart from about 500 dead

).
Inquisitors, however, are a nightmare. I'm busy training up assassins (killing foreign princesses and diplomates

) to take them out.
Only on about turn 65 and I'm really looking forward to delving further into this one. Particularly raising a massive Crusade (I mean like four or five massive armies) and heading off to Jerusalem for some killing on a disgusting large scale
Got it running at 1440x900, full graphics, with no issues either. I might just change unit size to massive for next time 'round
