Mediocre claims to fame

A few more…

Paul McCartney had a place in our town. His fireworks at the millennium were great.

I used to deliver the papers to Julian Lennon’s house. He used to give me a fiver at Christmas.

I was friends with Ray Stubbs’ children when I was a teenager. We all went round to their house to watch one of the Euros games in… 2000 it must have been. Ray was away commentating, so the house was free, you see.

And a truly crap second hand claim to fame… The Beckhams nearly bought my posh friend’s house. But then they didn’t.

One of Danny dyers films had a scene filmed in the office i work in.

Its also not the only filming that has been done in our office

Dr Who filmed a segment in our office, they turned the outside of the building in to an enctrance to a hotel.

Also there was something fimed in here to which one of the scenes was facing my desk, kit harington is in it, along with Naomi scott. - After they filmed in , i had 3 water bottled left on my desk, i can only imagine one of the actresses left it on my desk, although i didnt see the filiming as no one was allowed in the office, i did see the fake desks they had setup a stone throw from mine. they had monitors which transmitted sort of fake cgi screen stuff

Looking on IMDB its been a year or two since it was filmed but its being released soon i think

I went to the same school as Chiwetel Ejiofor although he was a few years ahead of me so didn't interact much with him but do remember being around him.

I was also in Andrew Sheridan's year at school (England's loose head prop). He was already nearly 2m tall as a 15-16 year old.

My BJJ team is linked to Guy Ritchie and Jason Statham (via one of our team's black belts Simon Hayes)

Crikey, where to start.

Fortunately in my line of work (building maintenance) we have to ensure that everything works when anything celeb related takes place, as such I've met absolutely boatloads of them, and living and working in London really helps with this too.

I've met Daniel Craig when he was filming Casino Royale, he filmed a scene at Moorgate (Aldermanbury to be exact), this was my first experience with this kind of thing so naturally I was extremely excited to tell everyone that "I was there! I was there!" only for it to be like two seconds in a chase scene in the film.

I met Dustan Hoffman and Emma Thompson when they were filming Last Chance Harvey, they did a scene at the book market on South Bank, I was looking after the BFI at the time so chatted to them for a bit (this was where I learned that actually these people were just being polite to the young exciteable kid and actually didn't actually have time to talk to me, as their usher soon told me, another lesson learnt)

I've met all three of the Top Gear presenters, Clarkson in the middle of his "slope" controversy, he was outside his lawyers and properly grumpy when I greeted him, he still remained polite and said it wasn't a good time, fair play. Hammond I met on a chance visit to Saunsburys in Fulham Wharf. Just a quick hi, nice to see you, thanks for all the entertainment kind of thing. May I met at Waterstones Piccadilly when he was doing a book signing and we had to sort out all his back-of-house stuff.

During that same employment I met loads of other minor celebs, Stephen Fry, Katie Price, Sean Lock ( :(), Jimmy Carr and probably loads more I'm forgetting.

I've met Hugh Grant loads of times, he has a house next to my former billionaire employer's house in Kensington and his mum used to park at my boss's place and I'd often have to ring them up to get them to move their cars. Genuinely nice chap tbh.

I've met JK Rowling when she was living on Eaton Square and I had to replace her taps, same with Naomi Campbell. Met a few other famous faces during that time but can't remember them all.

More recently I've met Sir David Attenborough when he came to open the new Fixing our Broken Planet exhibit here at the Natural History Museum. I've also met Tom Cruise who was filming the next Mission Impossible, also here at the museum. Hoping there's more than two seconds in the film this time! (also had to fire one of my staff for breaking the very strict no-cameras rules unfortunately).

I've met tons of people from the Royal Family too, as they are huge supporters of the trust here at the museum and often pop in to see new exhibits and stuff. Never the big ones, just the little namby pamby ones.

I've also met tons of celebs from other countries, mostly arabs and sheikhs as London is their playground and a couple of years ago the museum was the venue du joure for their events.

That's all I can remember off the top of my head, I'm rather fortunate like that. Pity it's all wasted on me, celebrities do absolutely nothing for me. Glorified jesters. Dance puppet, dance.

Ooh, here’s a current one. My daughters went to school with Keely Hodgkinson’s little sisters. Her family live a couple of streets away. My wife said hi to her mum at the shops the other day.

I played snooker with Steve Davis when I was a young 'un. Also played table tennis with Desmond Douglas, also when I was a young un.
Chucked a cast member of Coronation Street (female red hair played Fiz) out of Mcdonalds in Nottingham probably 25 years ago as she was smoking and wouldnt put it out.

I once when i was a child got to Swim in Gorden Strachan's Swimming pool
when i was a little older i met MR blobby lol
then when i got my first tech job i fixed a desk phone for an awful man in a Tracksuit wont say his name but you can guess

As a young kid I was photographed in a newspaper stroking a police dog (it was a police station open day for some reason).

Also as a young kid I sung on stage at the Royal Albert Hall (the whole school did).

I just recently sat next to Fiona Shaw on a flight back from Doha, she was very nice, she'd been to Sri Lanka. I knew she was famous as I recognised her face but I never acknowledged it as I couldn't think what her name was or remember anything she'd been in

The back of my head was on John Cravens Newsround back in the early 80's when he came to our school to do a bit on school dinners.

I did a stint as an internet radio DJ back in the early 00's for a gaming league I was in.

In the 10's I was forced to do an interview for Local BBC News, by my boss, as our company was 100 years old.

I've got a couple of mates whose relatives are pretty famous.

Was walking down the marina at Marbella years ago and saw this guy that looked the spitting image of Dave Grohl followed by a couple of security guard blokes. As we walked past each other, I was like na, can't be. I turned around and couldn't see him anywhere. Still convinced to this day it was Dave.
