Men using sun beds

Its 2007... If you really think using a sunbed is gay they I think you have insecurities about your sexuality or something. Personally I don’t use them, not because I think they are gay but because of the health issues.
It's because I'm secure that I don't care about the colour of my skin.

We do not.

Yea but you like the rain, in a perfect utopia for you tan wouldn't even be possible...

And yes it's gay it causes skin cancer it's boring - i imagine having not participating in said pampering - it will make you look like a pretty/nancy boy its got no commas.

Im not sure it is more dangerous is it? Personally id say 4 minutes on a sun bed is far less dangerous than the 5 or 6 hours a day most brits spend on the beach when they go on holiday...

It's more dangerous. It's highly concentrated UV radiation, the sun's isn't. Plus sensible people wear sun lotion to filter the suns UV light even further, whereas I'm guessing you wear no protection whatsoever under the lamps, just googles to stop your eyes frying?

Orange tan? Are you confusing sunbeds with fake tan lotions? Sunbed tans are indistinguishable from normal tans..Even the sunburn is the same.

They're not indistinguishable, a slow built sun tan is less harsh and obvious than fake tans. Bottled tans make you orange yes, but I've noticed gayrays do pretty much the same. Tanning the skin far too quickly.

You even let it slip with your own post. Sunbed tans vs normal tans. Surely your opinion is that they're both normal tans? :p

and there are different levels of pale...id say that the average computer fan is paler than the average football player for example.. Very pale people look unhealthy, even in the UK amongst other slightly less pale people.

Some pasty people do look weird yes, but that's also down to them being hardcore nerds who play WoW 24/7. Greasy hair, orange teeth, T-shirts 3x too big for them etc.

A normal coloured football player looks better than an obviously fake tanned poser. :)

If you are a man and you are attracted to other men... that is when you can consider yourself a homosexual

If you are a happy go lucky person with a bright, happy attitude then you can be considered Gay.

Gay is also 1337 Sp33k for not good, crap, bad etc.

As for sunbeds they are as cool as toupees. No one likes someone to have a permatan in the UK esp. in the winter. People who know you will know you haven't spent 3 weeks in Tenerife and will know you are on the sunbed.

Some people believe it stops you burning on holiday.

but its for far less time..a short time at higher concentration VS a long time at a lower concentration...

I disagree and I suspect you dont actually know what youre talking about..You obviously havent tried it yourself to see...The tan is the same but obviously a bed tan and a normal tan are different..simply because one takes place indoors and we are discussing the two methods in this thread.

Their skin colour looks horrible and they look sick...There are LOTs of incredibly pale people these days because people spend so much time indoors..and its not just nerds...The average people go to work, stay in their car, spend the day in the office, drive home and then spend the evening inside..

Heres my 2 bob. I dont think its gay if you want to look good, then why not use a sunbed to get a tan, or a pre-tan before you go on hol? Pasty looking skin is not a good look.

Some of my friends are disgustingly pasty and go red as soon as they see sun, but they get on the sunbed before holiday, go through their red phase, then by the time they get into the sun their skin starts tanning, so they dont have to spend half their holiday moaning about sunburn and endure slaps on the shoulders and back!

I have dark skin myself but the pigmentation can lighten if I dont catch enough rays. Its noticable especially on my arms and body where a tshirt usually covers it up. Never been on a sunbed myself but I am considering it.

However, any man who uses fake tan is a gayer.

Girls play football, ahem.

You were obviously talking about men until I mentioned gayness, pretend you weren't all you like, you're not fooling anyone. ;)

And for the record, gay-rays don't make you go orange when used moderately and sensibly, they give a very natural looking tan.

Word.

Odd as my girlfriend's mate enjoys going under the lamps, and her tan is obviously fake. Infact I knew it was fake before she admitted spending too much money on it. Just giving my opinion based on observation. :)

People that use sunbeds are sort of like Michael Jackson, trying to be something they're not. I'm a ghostly white and perfectly comfortable with my race and don't feel the least bit inclined to make myself a black man

closet tanner right there imo
and of course everyone except you who uses these forums is a nerd of course
arrogant son of *****

calm down "perywinkle" :D Bit too close to the bone mate? Lots of people here shouting GAY, but you get the hump about me saying nerds lol.

Nothing closet about it! I love the sun, I get depressed, tired, ill if I don't get enough so I'll get on a sun bed if there's one around, no qualms about that.

ooooh tan and possible skin cancer, or no tan and skin cancer free?
hmmmmm...

there are reasons why i have a pale 'english rose' complexion - i'm not vain enough to think a tan will make me look 'better' and bcc / scc / melanomas will never be fashionable :p

stay away from the sunbeds
wear a high factor suncream on exposed skin when it is warm / sunny
cover up delicate skin whenever possible

do not underestimate the risks of UV exposure
there is no such thing as a safe dose of radiation

be pale and interesting!!! :D

That has to be the most ridiculous response in this entire thread. Kudos. :D

And I totally agree with him.
I go abroad, I lie on a sunbed by the pool and I have a big umbrella over me.
I don't give a stuff if I still look the same colour after two weeks.
