Have you seen Raiden in the new MGS4?? He aint a wimp no more right :p :D

yep apparently most of his body is gone, its 'falling apart' and is mostly made up of 'Cybernetic prosthetics', the only part of his body that is the same is his head and spine, plus he is pale because his blood is white.

Got that info from wikimedia under 'Raiden'

They should have just used Solid Snake, a character who is actually interesting instead of Raiden who just didn't interest me at all.
This is the key bit. You tell us why you don't like Raiden instead of Snake as the playable character, and then you go and cancel yourself out.

Seeing Snake from another perspective WAS interesting. No one learned much about Raiden - in fact, other than his girlfriend's identity and a few snippets of his memory, there isn't much about him you do know!

Yes, perhaps. But it was to the detriment of the game. Kojima simply should have designed a better character with better side stories.

I'd like to know how you think I cancelled myself out?
Raiden annoyed me in every way, then on top of that, the whole story from the game was too long, too drawn out and very, very average.

Best part in the entire game? The ship.

MGS4 is going to be amazing. If any of you listen to the Kojima productions podcast, content was actually removed from MGS2 because of what happened with 9/11. Therefore the story was even more confusing that what it may have originally been.

Also, the whole game won't take part in the Middle East :)

I thought that was only relevant to the very end of the game?

Metal Slug 1, 2,3,5 and X I belive

NEO GEO consoles are crap with out one of them ;)

They're a totally different series of games made by completely different people :p

Just went out and got myself MGS Twin Snake for the Gamecube, Proper needed to play it.

I was a little torn though, As i could have had Res evil 0 and 1, and Zelda Windwaker AND Zelda master quests for 20 quid.

Instead i just went for MGS :p

DEAR GOD! :p

It was fantastic, and will apparently be on DVD. So you can atleast get the DVD version! hehe.

Good going on getting the 360 cash though, If im honest i was tempted, I bought my ticket for £39.95. and the seats were fantastic. I could have got a nice bit of cash to put towards a PS3.

But I couldn't do it.

Oh NUTS.

It's going to be like that DVD everyone has of Queen playing at Wembley. Everyone will be like "Yeah I was there  " but I'll be the sad Dad that sold his tickets to play games. :( :o

You cancelled yourself out because you said you'd rather focus on Snake, the interesting man - when the entire game did focus on Snake.

The entire game you're not trying to find out who you are or what your past is. Those parts of the game are pretty much optional - you don't have to listen to Rosemary (since you don't really have to save your game or pay attention to anything she says :p). However, you're trying to get closer to this mysterious Pliskin fellow who bears a striking resemblance to one heroic Solid Snake.

When you finally do find out who it is, your game centres around Snake as a 'teacher', someone you can actually trust as opposed to 'Campbell', someone to pass on his experience to Raiden, the relative newbie. I guess I found it more interesting because I was a newbie and hadn't played MGS1 at that point :)

I suppose that is true. I've not played the game in years so I can't remember huge chunks of it (which isn't a good thing as I remember nearly all of the first one and I've not played that since it was released).

I just couldn't stand Raiden. The only thing I liked was his animation, but his voice, his script UGH!

Agreed, certainly did the job he was supposed to though.

spot on

One of the main themes/messages of MGS2 is what we should pass on to the future generations. What we should leave behind and what we should teach.

Kojima wanted this to be the last MGS game he made(obv its not now but at the time it was). He wanted you to play the game from the newer generations view, aka Raiden. He was effectively projecting himself onto Snake, leaving behind a message for us the gamer and more importantly the people who would be continuing his work after he was finnished.
