Metal Gear Solid. The Phantom pain.

I love it, people whining about too much story in MG for years, they finally release a game with limited story in it , but vastly improved gameplay and people are still crying.

Just proves that listening to the community will get you nowhere in games development.

MGS online looks superb man.

Oh my.

That looks incredible. I'm not even sure which class I would like to play.

Also, this explains why there are so many guns in the game. In single player, you sort of struggle to think why you would need to use more than a handful apart from clowning around (as in, you can be set with your old faithfuls), but in MGO I could see that different playstyles/roles would suit different weapons.

Can't wait. Hopefully it stays reasonably populated.

Yup different people like different things... It's not the same people moaning, the people that liked the long cut scenes and story will be moaning they have cut them out and the people that just like to shoot things will have stopped moaning.

Looking at the reviews it seems like listening to the community has got them somewhere. I have yet to play it so I dont know if i'll be happy about the reduced story. It would have been good if they could have found a middle ground to please both types of player though.

Shame that it doesn't come out till 2016 for PC if I remember correctly. For consoles users it's out early October, and we're already more than half way through September!

Although it'll be good to come back to after all the holiday season releases, and before Dragon's Dogma and Dark Souls 3 :D

Now that I made peace with the fact that this isn't the MGS I wanted, I'm enjoying more the game it actually is.
Luckily MGS4 was a real send-off for the characters...

Just one thing, was Kiefer too expensive for Konami?
They had him for just one day? Seriously he never says a word, Bigg Boss/Snake used to be iconic characters, just remember how upset everyone was not being able to play as Snake in MGS2.

Guess this is the wrong place, mostly Pc Gamers here :P

Well, maybe Big Boss/Naked Snake/Venom Snake wasn't as talkative as Liquid or Solid Snake, he has a slightly different personality perhaps and he just came out of a 9 year coma with bone or something stuck in his head, that's how I see it anyway. Also as you said MGS4 is the real ending, this is just before the beginning of the Solid story.

Hi guys in dropping to 50fps every now and again on 1440p (gtx970) and wondered what would be the best settings to turn down to keep it above 60 fps? Any tips would be great, thanks.

Uhm, no.

It's been said time and time again that Kojima wanted the game to feel more cinematic, e.g. not have characters ramble on for minutes, even hours at a time (a la previous titles, especially directly after 4), and wanted to communicate more subtlety through facial expressions, etc. (hence heavy emphasis on mo-cap tech.)

Even then Venom/Sutherland does still speak quite a lot in later game, and if you listen to the tapes.

He's obviously heavily inspired by films (you can easily see some direct influences in his work), and went for a more "artful" direction this time round (considering MGSV was his final send off of sorts, his "magnum opus", despite cuts.)

It's 50 fps mate... That'll do surely lol.

Quiets outfit is just a bit much for me... The explanation is naff aswell but the camera work in the cutscenes she is in just sad...

It's Kojima. He wants sexy ladies in his game, so thats what the rest of us are getting as well!

I definitely have a tough time explaining why she is posing like that in the ACC though...

Kojima should have spent more time sorting out the story... :/

Dead or Alive is the game for that nonsense.

In octacon voice "just like one of my Japanese anime's *-* " :p

Only played a few missions from the story and side ops, enjoying the running about even if it's a pain with the keyboard but the story so far isn't really.....gripping me as I thought it would... Maybe because I've only played a casual hour here and there so far.

But I remember the other games sucking me in completely.... Like I couldn't get enough.... Maybe it's the story tapes replacing lots of cinematics, as I loved the theatrical aspect of it...but now with tapes I find it hard to fully get engrossed in the story while running about.... And sitting there just listening to the tapes with no visuals doesn't have the same awe to it :p

So is this game worth picking up like most of the reviews say?

I was gonna get it on PC/steam but the price is pretty high at £45. Is there anywhere selling it cheaper. I've seen it on Cdkeys for £35 but have never used them before?

If it's CDKeys.com, I've used them a lot, and I've never had a problem with them :) And it's £28.90 now.

I have lost all will to play the game now. I'm in Chapter 2, and I have missions 33 and 34 to do...repeats of previous missions.
Chapter 1 was so fun...but I've just gone "meh" on it...
