Metallica to play Wembley!

They played most of them part from St. Anger, Whiskey in the Jar, I disappear. Well most of their what i would call big songs apart from these three.

Setlist IIRC and I've had a few; very hazy - pretty sure this is in the wrong order:

Creeping Death
For Whom the Bell Tolls
Disposable Heroes
Sad But True
Unforgiven
...And Justice for all
4 Horsemen
Orion
Memory Remains
Master of Puppets

Nothing Else Matters
No Leaf Clover
One
Enter Sandman

Whiplash
Seek & Destroy

My highlight was Orion.

Mastodon and Machine Head were both good, but all you could really hear was the drums. Particularly MH were better at Download.

A Spot of queue jumping :D and handy foot work got us in the PIT, OH YEAH!!!

The support bands were not that good, way too much bass and drums, HIM was funny just for the crowd not liking them and starting a conga line to pass the time:)

METALLICA were awesome! sounded fantastic (even though they down tune now :( )

FULL version of Puppets and Justice as well as Orion, no Welcome Home though..

Just a tad manic trying to get the tube back to Kings Cross

Those are different tickets to regular standing???

That is incredibly rubbish. If they are different, they can't have been on general sale.

I've no idea how people got those pit tickets, all I know is my mate got me in there !! was a brilliant show.... never seen a better one !!

They played Battery as well. Can't remember where in the set though.
Awesome concert. \m/

Metallica came on to Ecstasy of Gold from S&M too.
Was a bloody amazing concert, have to admit though I agree, Mastodon and Machine Head had FAR too much drums and bass, was hard to hear the guitars and vocals at some points.
HIM I actually thought were the best support band, there seemed to be quite a few people enjoying them in the stands, even if they might not have been main taste for people standing, but you could hear the guitar and singing much better than the first 2 acts. They DID seem to have quite a short set though unfortunately :(

The fireworks at the beginning of One was good too :D

-Edit

Having watched my video (albeit with terrible audio) taken with my camera, of HIM's Wicked Game, there's parts where you CAN hear the crowd singing along, so they werent universally disliked :D

It was amazing :D

HIM were as bad as I expected them to be, shocking to get that slot.

Mastodon did sound a bit bassy and Machine Head could have sounded better, but ive seen both before in other venues so know how good they can be.

The only song I missed was Blackened but Sick And Destroy was probably my favourite or maybe Battery or MoP heh the fireworks and stuff was cool aswell, should have got there earlier to get into the pit, now I know for next time :D

Whiskey in the jar you mean?

I'm just going to agree with everyone else, what a fantastic day

Mastadon - We're ok but but were definately in the right spot as first band on.

Machine head - Oh my god, did it get mental when they came on or what  I was down the front it was all going off there were some mental mother f%$*&!s really going for it. Didn't hear much of these as i was trying to stay alive :D but good fun.

Him - Don't know whether to feel sorry for them, as they were totally on the wrong bill, or just laugh at the reception they got. When they came on no one even noticed, it was like the roadies were still warming up.

Metallica - No where to go that hasn't already been said, they took Wembley to places far beyond. The set contained songs from nearly every album and the crowd were so into it, memory remains will remain with me for a long time.

Now for a quick moan about the "golden circle". I was within the first 500 people into the standing part of the stadium but would they let me in, NO, it was full!!!! Are you having a laugh, even during Metallica there was enough room for two sad slappers who didn't want to do anything else but dance arm in arm for the whole set, to prance around and the there seemed to be a hell of a lot of 16 year old kids in there. Call me jealous but it just seemed a complete joke.

Sorry moan over.

Otherwise made my year, looking forward to the new album.

Yeah I was down on the barrier, looking at all the emo kids and dancing girls in the golden circle, wtf. It's crap and it must be crap for the band. There should have been mosh pits and crazy people in the golden circle :(.
