Metro Last Light - Thread

Now on Steam, quite expensive and very little pre order incentive. 10% discount if you've got the previous metro in your steam library

Might be giving this one a skip until its sub £10 TBH. First one was ok, in fact I enjoyed it but it ran like dog poo on anything I ran it on other then a recently purchased gaming laptop with a 7970m, won't go down the route of optimisation : - )

Not sure, got loads of games to keep me going anyhow.

yeah kinda expensive this 49,99€...i have 2033 but even at 44,99€ is just too much...aint' buying before lower then 25€ range.

during checkout you can choose digital delivery. A few people have ordered other games from them like Crysis 3, Bioshock Infinite and these were in English.

I have mine pre-ordered so will let you know, but it's definitely a Steamworks game as they emailed me that when I asked them.

Manju, will you need to VPN activate this on steam or is it region free. Someone got screwed over buying a Bioshock Key that was region locked, so dont want to be in that position.

I've been replaying 2033 in 3D again now my machine's up to the job. I'm hoping the new one is 3D Vision ready and not any harder to run, luckily i'm off work for paternity leave so should get a nice run through :D.

Wow lucky you, when I was on paternity leave I kinda had loads to do with helping my missus out with the baby, you know, cooking her some meals and helping out around the home after she'd had hardly any sleep lol

But if you reckon you'd be able to get some serious game time in then great.... but be warned, you might not have as much time as you planned, so maybe wait until the baby is settled and buy the game cheaper in the sales.. lol

Yeh, she was nosily looking over my shoulder whilst I wrote it, looking for a reaction. :D

Got Metro 2033 free with Facebook ages ago, is it worth playing?

Yes, but its very linear and requires good hardware. Even today it can bring certain systems to a halt, graphics are very good, atmosphere is good and story is interesting but its not quite as gripping as some single player games.

It has some very good scripted areas but the weapon ammo system is confusing, ammo is currency in the game and it gets really difficult at times to understand what each bullet etc is worth.

Looking forward to this. But will not buy it at full price.

In fact I dont by any PC at full price anymore, I wait for sales.

Only thing I will pay full price for is an online multiplayer shooter like BF4 etc..

Am I reading the steam page right? To get ranger mode you have to buy the limited edition version?

Or in other words, to get something that was absolutely part of Metro 2033, I have to pay more. If that's true, I'm out!

As far as I understand limited edition can only be acquired through pre-order. So you are not paying more for ranger mode.

Also if I remember correctly, original game didn't have ranger mode (first time I played it I actually stopped and forgotten about the game after an hour of play) and was added later. When I tried it again, with ranger mode available this time, I loved the game.

So seen as ranger mode is not included in normal edition of the game on release I take it they don't think it is that crucial, however in my opinion playing on ranger vs normal makes the game go from tedious but beautiful to absolutely thrilling and beautiful.
