Metro Last Light - Thread

Anyone got it running in 3D? How is it? 2033 was amazing.

trying it now, but I've been having aspect ratio problems since the game launched in the UK so it looks rubbish atm.

edit - it was the fov I changed to which messed it up. Going back to the default 50.625 (I think it was) keeps all the 3D effects intact.

Quick question

I've gotten by without having to use certain controls, but I find it confusing what I am supposed to press on the Keyboard to

1. Throw a Knife
2. Lay a Claymore
3. Chuck a Grenade

What are the Keybindings for above please? I cannot complete the Marshes level without knowing these lol

In a level where you're surrounded by fire my screen started flickering; I thought it was some fancy PhysX effect, but then my GPU stopped responding and my PC crashed lol

:(

OVERLAYS MAKE THIS GAME CRASH!

Killed FRAPS and EVGA X and it's all good now!

How do I disable EVGA X Overlay? WIthout EVGA X on my overclocks won't register.

nvm
Go into the Prec properties. Select the OSD tab. Now look for the section that says "On-Screen Display Header Properties". Remove the check mark from the box that says "show on-screen display header". That'll take care of it

Does anyone know if the Metro Last Light purchase from Gamersgate includes the Ranger DLC? The cover art for the product page shows limited edition but it says nothing about it in the description.

Why not get it from the place I linked previously? It's cheaper and is for the LE (confirmed as someone redeemed it in Steam and got everything)

Also

Completed the game and I think I got the good ending. All I will say is :(

Thanks 4A and Dimitry for making such a brilliant game, until all the bugs, textures etc are fixed it's a solid 8.5/10. So sad this is the last Metro game, I feel numb just like when Gears of War 3 was the final instalment.

I didn't see your link as it was on the previous page :p. Thanks for the heads up though!

As a matter of fact, do you know what the issue is with Simplygames/SimplyCDkeys? I can go through the Simplygames website and click on view product for Metro Last Light and it redirects me to SimplyCDkeys. Is this the cd key equivalent of simplygames? Seems odd they are operating under a different name for it.

No idea sorry, maybe they want to make things easier for those who just want digital keys by operating a separate website.

Also blueshift how do I install SweetFX?

nvm sorted

Finished this last night. Really, really enjoyed it. Excellent atmosphere, use of music & at points the graphics were absolutely stunning. I think the character models, collision detection & physics could use a little work but mostly it was a fantastic experience that I think I'm going to repeat on Ranger mode & with Russian dialogue.

same here

2nd run is using sweet fx, 3d, russian dialogue, english subs, I want to get the second ending.

I bring you news from the Hive

- Metro 2033 MMO is being worked on but for Russia only!
- The DLC I linked to before is the real deal and fits in nicely with the story that 4A are releasing a Season Pass; 5 Missions and an SDK
- The Multiplayer prototype is planned for release in 6 months, but 4A and Deep Silver are considering whether it will be beneficial to release MP.

Did anyone get the Good Ending then?

because last light catered for the western audience who like shooting stuff and easy stealth gameplay, last light isn't on par with 2033 which is more superior.

About the Game
The Season Pass is for the ultimate Metro fan. It is a discounted pre-purchase for future Metro downloadable content. With its purchase you will receive:

The Faction Pack
The Tower Pack
The Developer Pack
The Chronicles Pack.
A new weapon, exclusive to Season Pass buyers - the Abzats - will also become available when you purchase the Pass.

£11.99

More information to come tomorrow

Hi all!

From 4A itself:

"Artyom’s story may have been concluded in Metro: Last Light, but there are other characters with stories to tell, some familiar locations that fans of the Metro series wanted to revisit, and some new challenges that 4A wanted to explore," said Andrew Prokhorov, Creative Director at 4A Games. "Since completing the game we have been working on these new stories and hope to release them throughout the summer."

That means that while they had some ideas early this year, this is all content that is being created as we speak, and content that will be created over the next couple of weeks and months.

The Season Pass will be $14.99 / £11.99 / €14.99 or 1200 MS Points.

Included are 4 individual DLCs:

The "Faction Pack" and the "Chronicles Pack," which both focus on new and original single-player gameplay and stories that expand upon the Metro: Last Light universe.

The "Tower Pack" which is something different that focuses on challenge and pure gameplay for Metro veterans.

The "Developer Pack" which is not an SDK, but which will give players a unique environment and tools to play around with.

Full details and pricing for each individual Pack will be revealed closer to their release, but combining the current info with 4A's words above will give you some pretty big hints for the first two Packs I believe .

The Season Pass gives you the DLC Packs in one package, at a discount compared to buying them individually, and also includes the Absats weapon for use right away. The Season Pass will also be available throughout, so there is no deadline for getting everything at a discount; if you want to wait and see what the individual DLCs are first, you can always get it later.

The Absats in action:

The first Pack to release is the Faction Pack, coming in June! The others will follow throughout the Summer. Meanwhile, 4A Games will of course continue work on more updates for Metro: Last Light.

I have 670 Sli and 2500k @ 4.6ghz

2560x1440 same settings but SSAA off I get - Average 45fps, Max 121.71fps, Min 9.94fps.

SSAA kills performance with no real gains for me.

At 1440p do you really need ssaa though? What I've noticed is that it does add a bit of polish to the visuals.

Loving this so far, very enjoyable to play.

Playing it through in Ranger Hardcore which, so far, doesn't seem too taxing if you take your time.

Only thing that really hacks me off is they remove the ammo count, etc., but there's no mechanism in place for you to easily check your ammo otherwise - unless you've a gun with a visible magazine.

Even then, you don't know how many bullets left you have at a glance. Nor can I easily tell if I'm using military-grade ammo or not (again, unless I can see the rounds or fire a few off). Seems to rely on you counting them at trade stalls and keeping a mental tally.

Please do say if I've missed something though!

Community raised it on day one. Still waiting to see if 4A will allow us to count amo in ranger hardcore, not via a HUD but by raising the weapon and being visually able to see how many rounds are left in a magazine and in the inventory among other things which have been raised that break immersion.

With some shotguns and assault rifles you can see how many bullets you have in the chamber.
