Metroid Prime 3

I'm sorry, but there is absolutely no way this is anywhere near as good as Halo 3. It's not even got multiplayer or any replayability value.

In a Fanboys Opinion ;), I liked Halo 3 but for a Long lasting campaign and differant control scheme Metroid Wins. Also i didnt find the aiming scheme anything like Red steel, red steel was choppy, looked like die hard for the Gamecube and played just as poorly, the controls on this seemed a lot more calibrated and reliable.

MP1 was fantastic whereas I felt MP2 dragged on a bit and turned into a meh-fest. Pre-ordered this but non-first class, so we will see. I have high expectations.

I still reckon Super Metroid will be the best in the Metroid series. Its backtracking was far more manageable due to the smaller environment, whereas in the Prime games to me ended up turning into a bit of a chore (especially in 2) and were easier to get lost in (even with a map). So I think the more linear, albeit still intact, experience will work to the game's advantage in this case.

Trust Me Backtracking is not an issue in 3, environments are much more easily scaled and better routed so finding your way around is far easier then MP2/1. The controlling system is probably the best i have tried on the Wii as its really smooth and easy to poinpoint the cursor. Only downside is with its fast pace strafing and rapid firing (A button slamming ^_^) i often found the aiming cursor went wandering into background textures and took me a few seconds to find out where it was. but i well recommend it.

You can turn the A and B buttons around so it feels like you're firing a proper trigger with the gun. I did this after my initial session and it feels a lot more natural.

It will do for me once i get the Wii Zapper, to be honest its the only Wiimote mod im looking forward too, rest of them look like junk.

I just changed fire to B and jump to A.
Got it on meduim sensitivity and free aim with lock on.
Seems to be working out pretty well for me :D

Well it's great, controls are very well intergrated for the wii, however I wouldn't say the graphics are nextgen by any means... basically looks just like metroid2 on the cube which isn't a bad thing to be honest :)

It does look a lot niver than the other 2.. especially the outdoor environements and atention to detail..

Infact the detail is what the game stand out as one of the the most superior titles ive seen on all platforms. IE. When you explore a room take a minute or two to look closely and the detial is incredible, really nicely modeled, crack, stones, wires, plants vines and other aliens structures make them feel really fantastic. Plus its all polygon modeled detail not cheap normal maps.

Plus the artistic direction is fantastic as every.. best alien based environemtns ive seen in any game.

It's a what ?

What should I be comparing this game to, if it's not really an FPS? It seemed like one to me, what with the first person field of view, a gun, aliens that shoot at you, etc. There is a distinct lack of exploration as well, unless you mean backtracking - of which if I wanted to have a good time backtracking, I'd play on Halo: Combat Evolved. :p

I will expand my views on the game when I've actually gone and completed it. I do know it's unfair to lay the smackdown on MP3 when I've only spent about two hours on it.

Compare it to the original side on Metroid games as it's very much in the same genre.

Kreeeee is there any chance of you bringing MP3 and the Wii to the LAN? I'd love to play it and I currently don't have the time or money to get it, but really want to try it.

Ive just burnt my eyeballs out playing this.

Aiming in High, and changed the a+b buttins around, but is anyone one left with a dead trigger finger with some of the bosses, feels alittle much like button bashing lol.

Apart from that, this is a very good game, set the bar high sor sole FPS titsl on the way.

Its soooo smooth!
