Congrats to Lewis on a well deserved 4th title. Not the way I would have liked for him to win it but there you go. Vettel/Ferrari still being helped by FIA I see. That turn three collision with Lewis looked intentional to me. He had already trashed his front wing so had nothing to loose by taking out Hamiltons tyre. He should have had a penalty for that and definately should have got one for passing Massa off the track especially as Grosjean did for doing something similar.

McLaren get's Renault engines next year and has now jinxed them. Honda comes good in 2018 and Alonso goes into meltdown. :D:p:D

Reliability aside, it does at least have decent enough pace to compete, as shown by Red Bull. It can win races.

Vettel isn't past his best; he was just never all that good. Better than most, sure, but a way behind Alonso and Lewis and a good chunk behind Riccardo and now Max too. If he hadn't has the fortune to get that car at that time he'd be remembered as one of those intermittently fast but erratic drivers like Kvyat.

Indeed, he's fast but is not much of a racer. Even if Vettel's fans refuse to admit that him hitting Hamilton was intentional they've then got to accept he's a complete liability in wheel to wheel situations. I always said when he was racing off into the distance for his 4 world titles we'll see what he's like when he has closer title challenges. That's been the case this season and he's looked like a complete rookie at times.

I think labelling him a complete liability is over the top. He certainly doesn't appear to be as competent wheel to wheel as some of the other top drivers, but he's a fair way from bottom of the grid. I think he's also demonstrated that he can get it right - his pass of Bottas in Austin at turn one, in-between Bottas and a lapped car, was sublime.

LH is winning and whining at the same time

*yawn*

if that is that really all you can add to the GP race threads, then I suggest you don't bother - if it helps I can pre-empatively thread ban you from the next one (as soon as Shimmy creates it)?

well sorry for stating the obvious, I don't see how me posting my opinions is a problem as ********** have you can block me if I bother you that much like they have.

It was a good thing I was banned during the race tbh, regarding the race the virtual safety car was the problem if it was an actual safety car vettel would have reached 2nd or at least been much closer.

You're not stating the obvious though, just stating the same crap every time the race doesn't have an outcome you like. It's frankly tiresome and childish.

I don't have the luxury of being able to block you, and I advise you not to go there with the "**********" line.

ok then ignore me I could respond to all these LH fans but choose not to it's not that complicated

2017? Mercedes dominance? LOL.

If anything this season has been the closest for years. Had Ferrari not imploded spectacularly we’d be looking at a fight to the wire. Red Bull have also found form more regularly too.. another year of V6 would only see the performance converge further.

Look at the V8 era... RB ran away with it when the regs changed but just before they changed to the V6 it was closing up. Just like Merc dominated these engines when they first got introduced and now we are seeing teams come back at them.

The law of diminishing returns, as it were.

@Armageus you can block a poster, but they can’t block you ;)

You're looking at the end result, not the racing. For me, the 2017 season has been one of the brighter and more interesting seasons in recent years. And that's all throughout the field, not just looking at the top end of the grid.

You're talking about V8 as some utopia, but I doubt that's really what you meant. The V6 era has had so many other considerations too, with all the energy recovery, and that's before even discussing the different aero changes.

If we’re going to go back to old, outdated tech I’d rather they slapped in a screaming V12. Now that was an awesome sound :D

Bbbbbrrrrrruuummmmmmm

well i agree 2017 has been better than 2014,15,16 how ever the last good season was 2012 imo

true 2017 was better but red bull weren't as dominate as Mercedes as you can see by my post
