Mercedes have a 55 point lead. A 1-2 is worth 43 points.

Ferrari need to score 13 more points than Mercedes in Brazil to take it to Abu Dhabi

Bit cringe when he's come fourth. Obviously feel free to congratulate him on the title, but it sounded like Hamilton had just driven the best race of all time.

Becoming a WDC five times over... The race is kind of irrelevant.

Looking back in history and so many drivers desire to become WDC just once, five times, simply an momental achievement.

Well done Lewis, this season, just drove like a true legendary WDC. Absolutely overjoyed.

Well done to Hamilton on a very well deserved WDC.

Max was the driver of the day for me.

Lets hope vettel\Ferrari don't make silly mistake next season

No Ricci in the red bull team photo.

Cant just be unlucky for his car to fail 8 times, it has to be something he is doing.

Well, when Rosberg won his WDC and Hamilton was the one suffering mechanical issues, the crazies were pushing out two main theories:

- the driver is harder on his car and therefore breaks it
- the team were sabotaging the equipment to favour the other driver

The majority of sensible people ignored both these theories, and settled on either:

- bad luck
- lower engineering competency from that side of the garage

Whatever the reasons, you've got to feel for Ricciardo. He'd be right up there for third place in the championship if he had better reliability.

Williams have gone and got themselves a €25'000 fine for the unsafe release that caused one of their mechanics to be caught by Stroll's rear wheel.

Vettel lost the WDC a long time ago.

The drive that he offered this year is the biggest fail of the year.
He has no place in a team that supposedly fights for the titles like Ferrari. Ferrari should free him to go to a smaller team to start all over again. If he wants a serious recognition, let him prove he is a viable driver...

Vettel is done for the sport, too.

I very much doubt it. He's sat in the fastest car for around half of the season, and now Ferrari have a much better understanding of their direction should be one of if not the top contender next season.

I can understand Ricciardo's frustration. But if that's his reaction to slipping back from pole and then retiring for the umpteenth time then it has a great chance of being far far worse without being competitive next year in the Renault. Chin up DR.

No, I expect Ferrari to be weaker next year if the cars are slower.

This is why teams and drivers employ proper managers who don't get hysterical after a couple of weekends. So called 'fans' are always swift with an emotional response to get rid of a driver, when the correct answer should be to question which driver could deliver a better outcome in the same machinery.

Vettel's a very good driver who's still got some learning to come. He definitely has quite a few limitations but given the right equipment and circumstances he can work around them very effectively. His errors this year have appeared laughable, as they're magnified by him competing at the front and they've been repeated, but he's clearly very competent and, at times, brilliant.

Ferrari clung on to Massa for years but now are suggesting that Vettel should be sacked off after two poor half seasons? Right...
