They've got a lower downforce rear wing (as do most teams here) which might go some way to helping. There are other changes to the car too (front wing) and probably some other bits that aren't as obvious. The track is quite smooth in the high speed areas too.Merc doesn't seem to be porposing nearly as much as previous races — is that just because this track is slow or have they actually made some progress?
Cool thanks. I guess we won't know until the end of Q3 tomorrow (assuming they get into Q3) and obviously the next few races. They've got a lower downforce rear wing (as do most teams here) which might go some way to helping. They are still porpoising though - well Hamilton was onboard a few minutes ago - but clearly not as much as previously.
It's too early to say whether they've made genuine progress given it's just one track, but it looks better.
Yeah he just seems to be stuck in a bad place right now. Had high hopes for him this yearWhat is up with Sainz this season.
Too many mistakes.

confirmed or speculation?
Have to agree.Don’t think the drivers think much of it going by their interviews!
Usually at a new track they’re all like ‘it’s amazing, awesome new track!!!’ No matter how sucky it is but they’ve just interviewed Checo and Lando and they both pretty much said the same thing. Off the racing line it’s awful and there won’t be good racing.
Both merc's running different setups
Surely they will tailor the cars to each driver and after some Sim work George might like the 'A2' front wing while Lewis might prefer the 'B1' evolution or similar? it also doubles up on their data points too.confirmed or speculation?

Every car in every team will be running different setups to their teammate, has happened at every race throughout the history of F1.Both merc's running different setups
It’s quite amusing that it’s possible in here to read a post and know who has written it before even seeing the user name.George again showing Lewis how it's done. You can only defend Lewis so much..
