Hi all,

Is there an easy way of getting the 3 RLOD failure?

My 15 month 360 has given up the ghost but with a single RLOD with an error code E79. Although E79 is flagged as a HDD error some people believe it's a firmware corruption issue.

Obviously I want to take advantage of the extended warranty but doubt it will be covered due to the explicit 3RLOD requirement.

Cover the vents up, overheating usually = RLOD. :cool:

I heard that covering up the 360 with towels can fix the Red ring error. Also giving the 360 a good hit can fix it! Anyone tried this?

I doubt they'd send back a non working unit.

mine has just gone out of warranty, the dvd tray sticks everytime and has to be 'levered' open and it has scratched 2 games so far renderring em useless...... surely the sale of goods act comes into force here as 1 year for a 300 quid item is not acceptable (saw a programme on this type of thing)

its all relative to cost.... might ring em and give em some stick for flogging duff gear

This should have happened from day one.

Admitting the problem after so long is only going to cause them money and grief, but I guess it's better than openly denying it
