Microsoft Band

Hmm, might have to consider getting one of these, loved my fitbit flex but the charging contacts broke after a couple of years, and after two surges broke in a year I just went back to my Pebble but I'm missing the fitness features.

Is it fully featured when paired with an Android phone or are the non windows versions of apps the red headed stepchildren?

My Band1 Seems to be working great now on 10586.107, It had a few wobbles, but a reboot of the Phone and a re-set of the band (twice) and now its giving me all my notifications and all the other bits n bobs it's supposed to do!! :)

I upgraded from 1 to 2. Feels much better on the wrist with the new shape and I use it with Android, i think the only feature you wont get c.f. Windows is the use of Cortana for voice bits.

Has anyone bothered with the Zagg sheild?
I had one on my Band 1 but the fit of the screen wasnt flush so it had a bubblesin it, so I took it off..

Theres £30 off at the minute but then you can get 2 years Complete cover with it which brings it back up to £199 so I might get that....

Well, didnt like the blaze. If it had a better screen and capabilities then wouldve loved it. Charging it is a bit bizarre too.

I can pick a band 2 up for £115 so might give that a punt. After looking at one in store today it doesn't seem as bulky as the photos make out.

Great!

Had to reset both my Phone (it was on Redstone and things were going a bit wonkey) and my Band(1)

Rolled back to 8.1.1, Updated to 107 then 164 and came out of the Insider Previews as I didn't want Redstone again!

Connected my Band to the Phone's Bluetooth, went into the Health App and it can't find my Band... I go to Bluetooth Settings ad it's there and paired!!... Back to the App, Still nowt!!

Am I missing somthing?? is there a setting I'm not saying yes to?? I know there's been an update to the Healt App (added social challenges) but I would have thought it would still see my Band!!!

Not a happy Bunny! I don't want to reset my Phone again! (I've hard reset it twice!!) as putting all my accounts back is a ball ache!!!

Anyone using a Band 2 on an iPhone?
I'm reading that there wont be a Band 3 this year, so might have to go Band 2...

I have the band 2 and so does my wife. I think it's good, does exactly what I need it to do, looks good and feels comfortable. the notifications I get on it really help especially when I can't have my phone on anything but mute in the office. 8/10 for me, 2+ if battery life was more than a day or so.

My standing heartrate is between 68 and 72. My resting is between 49 and 51 (which I've been told for someone my size is unheard of!!!)
if your unfit it might be worth seeing your doctor, slow heart rate can be a life threatening condition (called bradycardia). really might be nothing but not worth the risk, this can be at any age-go see your quack!

So apparently Microsoft have disbanded the Band team and discontinued the product line.

Real shame imo. I really like my Band 2. Does everything I'd expect from a fitness wearable. Nice notification integration without being OTT, good UI, good dashboard. Just shame it isn't waterproof.

Really odd decision from MS. Feels like a waterproof version would be a good way of gaining more sales.

So guess if Band 2 now breaks it's game over as they have apparently stopped further production.

that's disappointing they where very much on the right track, and now they support iPhone and android. its another crazy move.
same as the lack of set top box like apple tv or firestick.
No echo equivalent.

Madness.

there's one hope gone, don't now what to get no. realy want the view ranger app on apple watch but like 6hrs battery is just useless. was hopping MS might do something.
have to wait and see what sony and others do now.

There's speculation about a possible Surface Watch announcement later this month. Who knows. But yeah it sucks about Band.

It's a shame. I really like my Band 1, although the inside over the battery has started to peel, but it's outside warranty now. Just seems Microsoft are doomed when it comes to mobile technology.

My Band 1 is now randomly switching it's self off now!! :(

I can't afford a Band 2 (If I could find one) and Fitbit's don't do the Notifications with Windows 10 Mobile!! :( :( :( Plus I can't really afford one of them either!!!

My wife and I love our Band 2s and it's a real shame MS won't be working on them anymore. I hope there's something else in the pipeline.

What else is there that offers all that the Band 2 does?
