Microsoft Band

That's annoying hopefully it's a simple replacement process.

thank god Microsoft seem content with sticking with a band, Fitbit seem to have given up with bands and gone smart watches.

Mine went back, basically moved from a Windows Phone to an iPhone and it refused to sync, even after factory resetting. Spent hours on with MS support and they said they could replace but there was a 28 day lead time. Ended up taking it back to the shop for a refund. Bit gutted as I did really quite like it, a lot better than my FitBit Charge HR but in typical Microsoft fashion you just can't rely on it.

Mine (band 1) is refusing again to do any notifcations that are not text or email, so no WhatsApp, Facebook or Twitter updates. I like the watch, but its not he most reliable.

Even at £50 I wouldn't buy one, it's to floored. If it fell to £20 I would get one purely to have a play with, be a waste of money but hey ho.

I picked a Band 1 up at £50, and I think it's excellent value.

It does everything I need to do, and lots of people were asking about it and amazed what it could do.

Certainly compares well to everything else out there, from fitbit to Apple Watch... a bargain for what you get, in my opinion.

Well loving the Band 2 but mine has already developed a fault. After fully running out of battery I charged it on my usual USB port and it told me to reset the time and date. I did so and left it for an hour. Came back and it hadn't charged at all.

After many attempts I've given up. It keeps reporting no charge even though it seems to briefly charge and then give up. Have tried cleaning the charging pins to no avail. So it's a return to Microsoft and apparently if they verify the fault a straight exchange for new one.

Bit let down by this really but hopefully won't happen with next one.

Exact same thing happened to mine; could not for the life of me work out what it was. Eventually I managed to recreate the fault. Somehow the last few connectors on the ratchet fastening within the clasp were causing a short and resetting the device.

It would work fine as long as I didn't tighten it up all the way. Thirty minutes on Live Chat with MS and they sorted a replacement. Had to send it back to MS in Germany, but really can't fault the customer service.

Although you can wear it either way, it's really designed to be worn on the inside of the wrist due to placement if things like the uv sensor.

Hmm. I'm a bit torn to be honest. i decided to pick one up for a 2nd time (first one died and I returned for a refund and went back to my FitBit Charge HR, but that just doesnt really compare).

It feels more comfortable wearing it on the inside of the wrist, but I think it looks better on the outside.

Depends on weather I'm doing a lot of drawing work on my computer (I'm a CAD Draughtsman)! If I am, then it's on top as I don't want to drag the face across the desk when moving my mouse!!!

Wear mine on inside of my wrist. Lot easier to read the screen I find, more natural. Handy when driving as you can see the screen with hands on the wheel and without moving them.

I wear a watch with the face on top and have never even considered wearing it any other way. So when I got the Band 2 I put it on the same way. It just didn't seem to work for me. Within 5 minutes I had it on the inside of my wrist and it worked so much better.

24 hours with my Band 2, its a bit bulky but otherwise good. I particularly use it for my heart rate monitor at the moment.

Find the sleep stats really interesting also. Imagine 10 years from now - you'll have the power of our PC's in something called the Band 12 or some such. Quite exciting really!

Edit: Just out of interest, what kind of heart rates are people getting?

My standing heartrate is between 68 and 72. My resting is between 49 and 51 (which I've been told for someone my size is unheard of!!!)

The band seems to work better on Android than Windows Phone, getting more notifications, getting them at same time on band as phone, on Windows Phone there was a delay on notifications, email and text always came through at same time. Much happier with it now.

Ive been getting email notifications on my band before the 640 bings and before outlook on the desktop notifies me. Since latest build of Windows 10 mobile, found Bluetooth to be a lot better. Phone connects to car quicker, same with syncing the band.

same year with win 10 on 1520, very prompt notifications

I'm tempted again to get one of these, got a few hundred quid "spare" so thinking either recase my PC or get a Band2...

Who here had the original and has now upgraded to the 2?
