Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 announced.

So it is a feature of that particular aircraft rather than being available in msfs generally?
It's a feature of some aircraft. Fenix (payware) and FlyByWire (freeware). I can't speak for native MSFS aircraft as I don't use them, but if the FMC/EFB/MCDU 'pop put' into windows, then something like SpaceDesk (freeware) would work for projection onto a tablet. Other developers (PMDG, TFDi) require the purchase of an app from a 3rd party, ~£10 per aircraft. But we're now delving into two separate things. Would you like the EFB on tablet, the FMC/MCDU, or both?

Having finally managed to upgrade my graphics card from a 3060ti to a 9070XT, I was looking forward to how MSFS2024 would perform.
Needless to say, despite the extra oomph, the sim desperately needs a performance update which I believe is due in SU2.

I loaded the JustFlight RJ at LCY earlier and had a whopping 7fps. Once up in the air I was hovering around 70-80fps.
As soon as I get close to any reasonably built up airport at ground level, performance tanks.

I've now reinstalled 2020 until such a time that 2024 is useable.

I still think that performance is pants in FS2024.
So much so that I bought X-plane12 yesterday (it's currently on sale on Steam).
No, it doesn't have the nice lighting, and it really needs support for DLSS such that we can use DLAA.
Having said all of that, it was really nice to fly. Very smooth. The visuals are mainly "different".
In particular, it doesn't (at least by default) have anything like as bad a time at low level. For me in VR, both FS versions have melted buildings, and in places awful rendering of undefined objects (e.g. the side of the Thames).
X-plane uses the older style of sticking buildings from it's catalogue into an area, and personally, I find it far less jarring.

Had a look ... X-Plane is on sale for £33.50 .... ouch ouch - is that the going rate ?
I'm a very casual gamer ie one who loads a game up. Checks the graphics and then closes it

I wouldn't bother then.
For people who actually fly a lot, well that's the same(ish) cost as an add on aircraft in FS2024 or DCS.

Do they have small airports and stuff on this? I'd quite like to recreate a flight I took last year in a Microlight from a small grass airfield in Malmsbury over to IOW for a coffee. Both the carriers were docked too which was cool.

Not sure exactly what airfield that is but FS2024 has most of the grass strips, Oaksey Park and Compton Abbas in that neck of the woods for example. The graphics are good enough to do VFR from actual maps so I'm sure you'd recognise stuff you saw.

My game pass PC account got hacked and stolen, the only game i bought on there was FS2024 as i wanted to keep my career progress from time playing while subbed to GP.

Im gutted but i should have had 2FA on the account i thought i had :(

I'm not sure which airfield you flew out of near Malmesbury but flightsim.to has a lot of free sceneries and I found this one:- Charlton Park Airfield

There are also free sceneries for both Bembridge and Sandown on the IOW on there too so you can probably recreate your flight in the sim

Have installed this as its on battle pass but my laptop struggles with it on max settings probably due to the CPU, was playing with controller but the controls were quite clunky.

I guess if you want to play these types of game seriously you have to invest in a property joystick?
