Is ths is best played with a joystick or is keyboard and mouse suffice?

Need a joystick TBH, flying with mouse & keyboard becomes a frustration.

I seem to get textures on the runways and taxiways popping in and out. I will try take a video at some point later. Seems to mostly be the runway markings. Is this a known issue and if so, is there a way to fix it or do is it something I need to learn to live with?

So I wouldn't mind getting started with this, But can I play with just a Logitech joystick and my keyboard? Or am I going to have t shell out a bomb for the "simulator Gear" ?

It's default runways buddy. REX 2.0 is only thing I've got installed. VSYNC and triple buffering forced through D3D overrider, but still occurs without this.
Yeah I will try take a video using FRAPS and get it posted in that thread, thanks.

Have you got DX10 preview on, flickering textures happens a lot with that I think.

A joystick is fine to start with. If you get hooked then the skies the limit. I use a wireless 260 controller when I'm out and about on the laptop while I have a nice HOTAS on the desktop.

Is there any sort of guide to setting up FSX? I have it lying around somewhere but not installed. When I installed it last it looked like a dogs dinner compared to some of the pics on here.

Microsoft Flight Simulator is coming back.

Dovetail Games has licensed the exclusive rights to make all-new flight products using technology from Microsoft.

A new simulator is expected to be released in 2015 and Microsoft Flight Simulator X Gold Edition is coming to Steam late in 2014.
