**** Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Thread ****

It sounds as if UK pre-orders that got in on day 1 for the i7 models and were seeing a shipping date of the 20th of November were sent an email telling them they were delayed until the 10th of December with a £50 Microsoft voucher for the inconvenience.

Has anyone managed to confirm if Microsoft is offering Microsoft Complete for the Surface Pro 4 in the UK? It wasn't available when I first pre-ordered a few weeks ago.

Uhh.? What delay? It's always been known as Dec 10th for the i7

FYI

The Surface Dock comes in two parts, power brick and the dock itself:

The security lock is on the left and two more USB 3 ports on the other side.

The power lead could be a little longer but otherwise it is nice to have such a small dock on the desk.

UK folks that managed to pre-order the i7 models on the first one or two days of the Surface Pro 4 going up on the Microsoft site were actually given shipping dates of the 20th of November (same as the US) and this remained as the shipping date on their orders in their accounts until they got the email today/yesterday about the 'delay'.

I thought they dropped cyan for the pro 4?

They just renamed it I think?

We have Black, Red, Teal, Blue & Bright Blue.

I had a look at the keyboard today and it really is nice. The soft touch palm rest, glass trackpad & the spacious keys - its just the right amount of awesome.

Any Revit users? Was about to give it a go to see how well it runs on the i5 model for a friend who's still unsure on the i5 or i7, but seems I need an account to run the trial :p.

I'm starting to look at one of these as a replacement for my dell laptop. Main use is Lightroom for photo editing. Is anyone currently using Lightroom on the SP3 or 4 and can give some views on their experience?

Also, for general web browsing and Lightroom use, which configuration should i be looking at? Would the i5 256GB 8GB suffice?

Has anyone tried vSphere client on a SP4? If I open a console windows to a VM the mouse input is proper messed up. I think it's the touch screen causing it.

Screen Protector

Hi Guys,

This is a question to the guys who already have the Surface Pro 4 is a screen protector or tempered glass required?

If, so which ones are you guys using?

Bashy

What Guest O/S are you using in the console and are VMware tools up to date on VM. I haven't had trouble with my SP2 I mainly use VMware player but did use Vsphere client briefly a while back.

Perhaps use Remote Desktop as a workaround?

It's a 2012 R2 server. Once built it's pretty much impossible to do anything, so I just enable rdp using the keyboard and then rdp in.

On another note, I'm getting really frustrated with it's inability to wake from sleep properly.

I haven't bothered with one on mine as the Gorilla Glass used is of pretty high quality, and I'm usually the sort of person to have screen protectors on everything! Most people say to not bother with one as it will affect the feel of the pen on the screen.

I haven't bothered either, and I've been using the pen roughly for test drawing and no scratches or anything at all. The screen slightly flexes with strong pressure but I think that's more to keep it durable and less likely to crack when using the pen.

My i5/256GB/8GB has gone back due to backlight bleed and the sleep/wake issue, now waiting for my original i7/256GB/8GB pre-order in just over a couple of weeks.
