Middle aged life

I came out as trans at 35 and as I now approach 40 it's really interesting to look back and see how much the depression of disphoria was holding me back.

I am in the best shape of my life, my marriage is in better shape than it was before, I'm doing fine at work as myself, I have a proper social life with group activities both in the LGBTQ+ community where I volunteer and outside where I sing in a regular choir.

I'm just enjoying being able to be myself still which I always had to hide before.

It's an interesting place to be reaching my 40s.

This should be everybody's aim.

It's why I've never understood why some people waste their own lives concerning themselves with how others live theirs.
Often they have no control over their own lives/situation so exert what control they can on others.

Get your pension then spend 10 years blowing the lot and have some fun. Then go do something naughty but not life threatening and get 3 hot meals a day, warm showers and a games console to live out your final days rent free ;)

Why did you miss out the sex whenever you want? :p

Along with getting your constipation issues fixed for free, no doubt. :p

Because we live in a society and some of the choices and behaviour of people affect those around them. How misplaced that concern is is up for debate depending on the issues but its not quite as simple as live and let live.

I find it more to be people who love to poke their nose in where it doesn't belong because they are bored.

I'm sure it is in most cases. People do love to get involved in things that don't affect them and are none of their business. That doesn't mean that its universal though or everyone has the same reasons for getting involved in the same issue.

Instead of going out partying, taking drugs, drinking, pulling girls, you stay in watching re runs of classic top of the pops on BBC 4 playing guess the year with yourself.....

I can't see how me going on many coach holidays or going places like Benidorm can effect those around me.
Why do you need to stick your nose in and claim the holidays we enjoy are not good etc?
I've had it all my life with buying goods, somebody has to poke their nose in.
eg I had my first video recorder around 1981 (Ferguson 3V29) and a co worker started slamming me for having one, I said "Hold on but you've just paid over £400 for a carbon fibre fishing rod", he replied "Yeah but that's different". :)
I've had it all my life people poking their noses in on stuff I buy, holidays I go on. cars I buy etc.
I suppose the last thing was my EV, I had 3 neighbours spouting every myth going, sod off it's not effecting you so shut up.

It's good to share. Remember, this is a safe space.
