***Midweek Football 24th Feb***

Wasn't winding me up, it was Tummy being his usual self and then choosing to claim that he is 'winding' me after I had got my point across.

Good result for Inter eh, guess I could say the same for Porto.

Awwww Gustov...Tummy is right you cant handle a bit of stick thrown at Chelski;):p...and yes it was a good result for Porto mainly due to an inept goalkeeper who gave them both goals on a plate;)

Awwwwwww

The discussion wasn't about 'stick' it was about being unnecessarily pessimistic. Whilst I'm at it I'll add you to that list actually, quite a productive evening for me :)

Pessimistic or not...you still cant handle anything remotely negative about your beloved Chelski...but anyhow doesnt matter as far as im concerned Chelski got beat so that makes my night even better:D

LOL at you putting me on ignore...just shows that you cant even handle a bit of friendly banter;)

Mancini is clearly under pressure judging by his after match interview. Man City were second best after the first 20 minutes tonight. Another classless manager.

Chelsea might have missed :p people do miss pens ;)

I enjoyed the over dramatic dive after though :p

Inter were much the better side.

what match were you watching ? inter were barely in the game total chelsea domination if you ask me they had 3 chances entire match good first goal second was a lucky rebound but he struck it well afterwards.
possession felt like 70-30 to chelsea it was that dominating.

Overall, I am disappointed. I just don't think we gave a good account of ourselves :(. Saying that, Inter did what they set out to do and did it brilliantly, I expect no less from Jose. They contested the ball and never let us get in a rhythm (apart from a few choice moments in the 2nd half) and took their chances.

We are going to have to step it up a LOT at the Bridge, I pray that we have some of our injuries back by then. Cech takes it up to 8 players missing now? We need our full backs back desperately and Hilario need to sort out his kicking!

A Cole
Bosingwa
Alex
Belletti
Deco
Cech
Zhirkov
Essien

Not promising for whats going to be a tough match this saturday going by our previous encounters with Manchester Blue.

Man City are awful. Bellamy is the only threat they have got.

Awww the tummy / gustov banter was entertaining! Now it can be no more ;[

I thought it was a penalty, but Kalou made it look worse by flailing his arms in the air as he went down. As a liverpool supporter I have to live with the stick we get for 'starfish' Stevie G, so I think I'm due criticising another player for doing similar :p

Overall I think Inter deserved the narrow win. Lucio played a blinder, and IF he plays like that again I can see Chelsea having a hard time at the bridge.

Why would your bring up the Porto result? Sounds like you are just trying to wind people up with that comment when it was played over a week ago.

Despite Chelski losing I think they have a fair shot at it at Stamford Bridge and the same for Arsenal. 1-0 for either and they are through.

Hope Chelski go out tho :p

Will be an interesting game with their game against City. I hope bridge gets forward a lot and goes for Terrys ball(s) :D

Chelsea may have dominated the possession - but for the most part they did ***** all with it!!!

Drogba had that fabulous free kick, Kalou was far too theatrical (and at normal playback speed I initially thought he went down too easily), and to be fair you were gifted your goal by shaky defence and a shaken goalie - that was a pretty easy save

Against their two or three decent chances (incl Eto'o's freaky miss-kick) apart from the ones they scored, Chelsea could easily have been totally out of the tie, without Cech I cant see you not conceeding in a few weeks time if Inter play to their best

I didnt really celebrate their 2nd goal - whatever the rumours floating around :D

edit - Alex is back in the squad I thought - wasnt he on the bench last night?

He always gets super defensive and touchy if anybody mentions Chelsea are anything less than the kings of football and indeed, the world

Man City are awful. Bellamy is the only threat they have got.

Tevez will be back, and really that makes a lot of difference because Ade is hopeless upfront on his own, unless he can shoot with his first or second touch its not even worth giving him the ball.

Mancini really needs to play to City's strengths, which are attacking, give them support upfront by not playing Barry, Vieira, SWP or Zabaleta in midfield, other than being rather crap, its not a hard method, 4-4-2, one DM< 3 attacking players in midfield and two strikers, its only worked for all the best teams for most of footballing history.

Chelsea should be able to win it quite easily though, Ireland has no form because he's being mostly ignored, the defence changes on a game by game basis and they really don't have any wingers, the fact Bellamy has been so effective there is helping them out, if Johnson is available for the other wing and Santa Cruz can play they have a decent chance. But Mancini looks set to play a stupid 4-5-1 no matter what.

As others have said, from watching CHelsea last night, they dominated, made plenty of great chances themselves, Motta should have been off, Samuel should have been off, Kalou should have been yellow carded for being a tit. He got hacked down, but made a massive meal of it, he made it look like a dive, had he gone down without fuss he may have gotten the penalty. Had Inter been down to 9 men, and 2-1 down, I can't see how they would have come back and can't see how they'd win away from home.

EDIT:- Does anyone remember me saying at the start of the season that Lucio would be a truly fantastic FREE TRANSFER for Arsenal, and with maybe a word from Gilberto to tell him Arsenal would be great for him. No instead of getting Lucio on a free, we go after the likes of Silvestre for a million quid, on a two year contract, when he's clearly long past it. :(

You might as well just sit and look at a blue screen at this rate.

:D:D...he might as well ask for a Don to kill his account if hes going to take a bit of criticism a bit too seriously if you ask me...but funny nonetheless seeing Gustov get his knickers into a twist.

But but but they are...arent they??:p

I'll actually do a dance and upload it to youtube for Gustov if Chelski get knocked out:D

Not much happening at the moment in the Liverpool game, but at least Unirea already look like they have attacked more in this match than they did in the first leg.
