***Midweek Football***(Spoilers within)

I am sick of people saying we get given pens all the time.

Someone ages back posted statistics showing we get the least pens out of all the top 4 in the league and the least are given at OT.

Yup that was me.

I also posted the extra time info ;)

iirc Arsenal get the most pen's at home.

Rustu saved them, great saves.

@ Evra, just lol. The defender didnt even make an attempt for the ball. Just thrown himself at Evra.

That goal was juicy though, regardless of the deflection!

What a ******* joke, another crap referee has cost us a draw tonight, couple that with the Fletcher 'dive' a few weeks back and we've had some ridiculously bad decisions. Didn't help that the Turks were cheating as much as they could, walking off the pitch as slowly as they could, staying down when they weren't injured.

Questions have to be asked about Fergie tonight though, does he tell the team to only try to score in the last 15mins?? The subs took far too long to come on and were the wrong choices anyway, Carrick wasn't needed, Owen barely touched the ball, and Evra while he should have had a penalty is a defender. Park was looking tired from half time and then he stuck Welbeck there! No wonder Nani has no confidence when his manager prefers an 18 year old striker there, we needed someone of his skill to run at the tiring defenders. Sickening second half, just never looked like we were trying to get anything out of it until the end. Obertan was probably the best tonight although his crossing was quite erratic, should have scored as well.

Not really good enough.

Having said that, I don't think Besiktas can call it a "scalp" either. They did nothing apart from score a deflected goal. No wonder Foster went running up front - he was as isolated as Owen was when he came on.

And when we did get in gear, it was too little too late. If we weren't already qualified i'd be pretty miffed, as it is it's not exactly enjoyable losing our unbeaten home/cl record to a team that did nothing for 90 minutes. :p

Anyone else looking forward to what Obertan will develop into? Made a few breaks for us and reminded myself what type of football we played last season.

I'm just not sure. He has really nice footwork at times and he did really well to keep the ball at several points but his crossing wasn't that great (other than the first one which was outstanding) and his general final ball seems a little lacking. Hopefully it'll come with experience but it's still very much uncertain for me.

Gibson's never played well. Ive only ever noticed hes played when he's either shot into row z or found the top corner. He's one of the least remarkable players Ive ever seen for MU - he reminds me of djemba djemba. I'd prefer to see someone like Eikrem given a chance. He couldn't be any worst.

I too, have never EVER seen him play well, at any point, in any match, against any standard of opposition, he is lazy, cant tackle, cant control the ball, cant pass, dawdles in possession and lacks any kind of vision.
The only thing he does with any level of skill is pick up balls on the edge of the box and take the odd pot shot, I'm sorry, but thats not enough.

He is NEVER going to break through into the first team no matter how hard they try and force him into it, this was supposed to be the season he plays a big part in after they signed him up to a new contract in the summer, and so far (thank god) we have barely seen him.

On a lighter note, Obertan played well, and at least looks like he can take a player on with a bit of skill and pace.
I'd like to see Macheda played with a stronger team behind him more often, he will score goals given some service.

Work has to be done, Ronaldo wasn't an overnight sensation was he :p

He was though. From his first sub performances you could tell Ronaldo was something special, the headlines the next day were a clear sign as well. Obertan is obviously nowhere near in that league at the moment. Several games now and he hasn't really come that close to scoring or creating anything. He has shown some nice touches though and is definitely a snip at the price we paid.

I thought Orbetan played well but seemed to be quite tired in the second half. Park was actually half decent too for a change but again, he also faded. It's a real slap in the face for Nani that he didn't get on with them both knackered like that.
Welbeck impressed me too, he's looking very good I think. Perhaps should be playing a but more than he has so far this season.

I just wish Fergie would be a little more attacking. Playing Park tonight was just a waste. I would have rather seen a more attacking player start and Park come on for the last 30 mins to get fitness. Nani deserved a chance tonight, this match would have been great for him. Then you look at Tosic who scored both goals for the reserves last night yet still doesn't get a chance for the first team. Welbeck did alright tonight but from what I've seen of Tosic he is leagues ahead of him on the wing.
