Midweek Football Thread 20 - 22 *spoilers*

to be fair, Everton were always gonna struggle with the players they have out! however shipping 3 goals in 6 mins early in 2nd half ain't gonna help much!

Aw, what an annoying last few seconds, shocking marking. Disappointed about a draw with Roma, guess that's not too bad..

Nice goal from Hamburg though Celtic defence all over the place for it. 1-0. Thought they'd been playing well before the goal.

Thought Celtic played pretty well tonight. Just not got the quality up front to stick it in the net when it's really needed. Not that they have an abundance of quality elsewhere on the park mind you. I think Mowbray is going in the right direction though.

We are utterly 'Jerome'. Sure we are creating chances but right now it seems more by accident than design. WE can't put it in the net and our defence folds under interrogation. Only Samaras got pass marks tonight imo, possibly Boruc and Naylor too but really because they didn't have many opportunities to **** up. Not even the hilarity that is rangers can lift the pall of indifference I'm sitting in.

That's Celtic's problem this season in Europe. Creating enough chances but not putting them away and then allowing the other team to get them on the counter-attack or from defensive errors. Even with these woes in Europe the OF still dominate Scottish football.

Some of the Celtic passing was comical though so Mowbray has a lot of work ahead of him and I'm not sure the board will let him spend the £5m+ needed in January for new players.

So glad to see Saviola finely going somewhere where he's going to get regular football. Surely he's got to be one of the most promising youngsters that's failed to make it so far. Really hope this jump starts his career. Di Maria has got to be a target for bigger clubs next summer, he's come on leaps and bounds.

How did they manage to balls that up with all the extra officials?

Yeah was ridiculous, I don't see how it was a red either, a penalty for most refs, some not, but to get it wrong is just ridiculous. The 5th official (wow, feels weird writing that) was like 5yards away! Not only that, when the guy fell he slid into Hangeland, how Hangeland was meant to of taken him down I don't know.
