Midweek Football Thread *spoilers and all that*

Probably deserved that defeat, just looked well short against Olympiakos. Did nothing to really test their goal keeper apart from Vela's chance, which as said above, was terrible. He was clearly thinking about celebrating before he hit it.

Walcott remains crap, he's not progressing whatsoever and is now clearly scared of getting injured. Song was fairly good, Wilshere and Ramsey were a bit better plus they got more minutes under their caps. I was quite impressed with Bartley. Fabianski was really good, he was nutmegged for the goals but generally looked assured when coming out for crosses.

It was Vela's wrong foot. We had the ball off the line, and several other chances, We had twice as many shots on target than they did.

Why on Earth would you go to a game, to shout into a microphone and face AWAY from the action?!

Still, as said, looking at the replays, it really was obvious he was thinking about celebrating as opposed to just burying it. And that is pretty poor from being setup like that.

Yes we had a chance cleared off the line, but having twice as many as the opposition isn't really a good thing. They had 3 and scored, we had 6 and didn't. A slightly familiar tale.

One thing I forgot to mention was Merida. Thought he did ok today, got a lot of free kicks.

The megaphone guys really ****ed me off. Noise like that from the crowd (megaphones, speakers, that trumpet at England matches) gets an automatic mute button from me.

Merida did well tonight, as did Ramsey. The best team definitely lost but we didn't take our chances and that's 4 games out of the last 6 that we've lost...

LOL @ the woman on the news calling Gatorade "Gatter-ade".

So the knockout round:

Man Utd could face:

Bayern Munich, AC Milan, FC Porto, Lyon, Inter Milan, VfB Stuttgart, Olympiakos

Arsenal could face:

Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, AC Milan, Lyon, Inter Milan, VfB Stuttgart

Chelsea could face:

Bayern Munich, CSKA Moscow, AC Milan, Lyon, Inter Milan, VfB Stuttgart, Olympiakos

I reckon we'll get Lyon, FC Porto or Inter.

Liverpool can face in the Europa League (and the first leg will be at home as they qualify as one of the four weaker third placed teams from the Champions League group round):

Ajax, Valencia, Hamburg, Sporting Lisbon, Roma, Galatasaray, Salzburg, Fenerbahce, Benfica, Shahktar Donetsk, PSV, Werder Bremen, Juventus, Wolfsburg, Marseille or Unirea Urziceni.

Nope, which is why it's so much easier to laugh at Liverpool knowing we won't be reminded of similar pain. :)

To be fair though, it's not so much Liverpool I'm laughing at, but the fat spanish waiter and the two yanks.
