They probably spawn inside buildings and come out. Unless there's dark sides to buildings...

Re the 1-posters..
This is starting to become more visible on google, I'm guessing that people are looking for servers and OCUK threads tend to be quite high on search results..
It seems easier to find this thread by accident than it used to, anyway. Not sure if it's worth putting a (small) post requirement to join, like 20 or something, unless someone can vouch for them.
Just a suggestion anyway, I know quite a few good players on our server were 1-posters to start with.

What's the best way to create a railway system that simply goes from A to B then stops, then you can go from B to A?

if the chat commands work you wouldnt need the gold blocks to boost, you could just use '/throttle x%' whilst sitting in the cart. it does feel a bit like cheating considering the work put in to the new server, though.

Ideally we'd be able to change those gold blocks for something a little more readily available, then carts and tracks could really take off.

You'll normally find two single chests in a mob spawner room with a few goodies inside, you'll need to make the room safe first by lighting it up to stop mobs spawning.

And yes, the server has indeed died

you can use just gold ore.

Sorry that was me reinstalling a updated minecart mania to work with beta.
I see I had already set the commands for user to use.

You can now sell cobble to the server shop but only cobble at the moment so you can get some funds to trade with each other.
use /shop ?
for commands.

To be added to the whitelist players now need to be a forum member for at min of 2 weeks & have over 5 posts.
unless someone who is already on the white list can vouch for them.

This starts from now anyone before this post will still be added.

yup, can do. have you tried it at all? is it really quick enough? i know its only 25% speed, but is it still infinite energy or does it run out? if we have to keep using gold ore blocks (because of finite energy) then the saving over a gold cube probably isnt all that much for the larger railways. It would be more useful for smaller A-B-A type rails though

I see the station block was added a few weeks back as well (Brick). that makes track switchers even simpler (for those that complain about big ugly buildings and such

)

ooooooh and elevator signs! that would make the track in the big tree so much easier!

Elevator Signs

A sign with the text "Elevator" (case-insensitive) on it at a particular spot, and a similar sign with matching text somewhere on the same Y plane (above or below it) with track leading to one sign, and away from the other, will cause minecarts to be transported from one sign to the other, seamlessly without the loss of motion.

that actually gives me an idea for the entrance to my new house....
