In game mail system has been set up, I still need to add the post boxes.
But need to fix server spawn lag first.

For a list of command look at the first post of this thread half way down under 'In game mail system'
It should work when I reboot the server I will do this at 5.40am

yeah spawn/vaults are unusable atm. you cant do anything. i went down into the vaults and there was a skel and 2 creepers walking about. god knows how.

right guys, i've come back on to work on spawn some more and i've found loads of crappy buildings (not on spawn plan, or agreed to, or made out of cooked cobble/glass)) all over the place inside the walls, all of them are going to be knocked down, spawn is not for building what you feel like!

the only buildings currently allocated place inside spawn are; train station, tefals and aypez stores, the centre spawn building, and the bank.

that is all.

i spotted this earlier. Almost fell out of the world...

You can't actually fall down them, you just get stuck. The client tries to fall but the server thinks you're noclipping and puts you where you were.

gars can you put on the first post that spawn is for approved buildings only, i dont want to have to clear it of turd every time i want to play, just wasted an hour taking down a crappy igloo shop and a lookout tower and still in the process of removing a crappy shop made of bricks.

SPAWN IS FOR APPROVED BUILDINGS ONLY, tefal and aypez have approval, you get approval by asking me, it is not for ****loads of shops that all do the same thing!

pft, it wasnt mine. it's awful. the only reason i kept mentioning it last night was because one of the faces was back to front - if you're gonna build a giant clock with 4 faces, at least make sure they all say the same time lol

just a suggestion then - take down those signs that say 'community free build area' because that is what has caused all this confusion. tbh, you should have given people a chance to take their own buildings down and made it clear if you dont want anybody building there.

Actually I'm annoyed now.
Yes, you were given control of the spawn, but if you can't find a way to make it clear that spawn is for approved buildings (with signs etc), you can't just tear down other people's work when you don't like what is built, especially after a period of inactivity like that.

I'm sure HipsterBK spent a long time making his house, on the understanding that it was fine to build a town house there. Some people don't follow every post in this thread, and it's hard to say it was his fault.

Destroying someone else's work without even checking it out with them is disgusting, frankly. This (town) is a community project, you don't have a right to destroy other people's work because you feel like it. I won't call you a griefer because you obviously felt justified in what you did. You should at the very least get permission from garsands before taking things down. Remember how you raged when a creeper blew up the front of your mine? Yet you do it to other people, no problem.

I'm sure Garsands will step in soon to say who is right, but you've upset quite a few people from what I've seen.

Whilst you were off having your period, the server carried on. Players continued to build, helping each other and having fun. I visit spawn often and did not see anything which I would call crappy or ugly, besides the spawn is massive and offers plenty of space.

To go off like you did and to just come back and delete people work before asking who owns it or what's it for, is just displaying a complete lack of respect. Thats without you slating the quality of their builds.

Can I make a suggestion. If your going to be in a "position of control" within the server, grow up a little first. There are players who I have seen on there every night, nice guys and harmless but if they start leaving because of your actions, then we have a problem.

Shape up buddy.

The signs were misleading, and although I agree the new shops didn't fit in I think the people who built them should have been asked to take them down rather than someone else removing their work.

We just need some better communication in future. Other than this mix up I think vincent has done a great job.

I'm really shocked. The server carries on when you're not on there for several days.....

The little "iglo" shop was a bit small, it could have been changed to a similar style of building though. I LIKE the idea of shops in spawn, it makes spawn have a 'hub'/community feeling. I also liked the idea of the coal shop, as I'm always running out of coal.

Finally, you shouldn't put up signs saying "free community build area", then when someone puts up a shop or building, you log in and destroy it.
No offence to aypez, but what is that waste of space building for? Since day 1 I've seen nothing more than a work bench in there. I mean it would be nice if the buildings that are "ALLOWED" in spawn have a use

Ok the clock was a bit on the big side, but I think it was a nice addition to the station, if it was reduced in size.
I hope the guy who did his in brick gets the brick back, that is really highly refined/sourced block.

Only thing that was a welcomed (and inevitable) deletion; was that suicide booth.
