Minecraft (online Lego essentially)

I haven't been on at all recently, but I checked out the Survival mode sneak peak. Looks interesting but long way to go yet, and the dude is on holiday.

EDIT: The Dude is back from holiday and working on it.

There has been a Survival Mode update, with TNT and a couple new creeps. This time its open for everyone to try. I suggest heading to the Minecraft Forums where you can load up custom maps of survival mode which are quite a challenge!

Also Half-Blocks for stairs are coming, maybe tomorrow.

If you lot like this sort of stuff may I suggest GARRY'S MOD :) an infinite possibility hehehe.

I'm hopeing to get it soon just trying to get a copy of halflife 2 etc.

The new Alpha survival mode is brilliant. I'm just waiting for it to go into Multiplayer. Next week it goes into a MP test, it will be buggy and no mobs. About a month from now it should reach MP Beta with all the current SP features. Really looking forward to this one, we should kickstart our little OcUK community again when it launches.

If you burned out on the original and haven't heard of Minecraft Survival, I strongly recommend that you check it out.

On that note once the game hits beta (survival mp released) the price goes up €9.95 to €14.95, so it you want it may as well get it now.

How is the insanely elaborate stuff built? Can you fly around or is it done by building stairs and ladders and deleting them after?

Either or really, if you're playing in the browser you just build blocks under yourself to get up there but if you're using the client you can fly about.
